GSM version of the Palm Pre makes its debut in Germany - with two new free apps

Time flies by quick when you're having fun, it only seemed like yesterday we've been introduced to the GSM version of the Palm Pre. Now it's become a reality with the premier smartphone finally making its grand debut on Germany's exclusive supplier; O2. Now our friends from across the big lake can finally get a taste of what we've been using since early in the summer. Pricing for the Pre will cost you €481 if you prefer to not be tethered to a contract – it's open and available as an option. If that's still not within your budget, then O2's My Handy option will let you finance it with 24 monthly payments of €20. Another worthy item to note is the presence of two new free apps in the Pre's catalog – ran and VZ-Netzwerke which are both in German. As the Pre's presence slowly makes its way across Europe, there will probably be more apps rolled out in the next few days.
