First images of the HTC Runnymede leak out
We know The 4.7-inch Gingerbread-powered HTC Runnymede looks like a close copy of the Windows Phone Mango powered HTC Titan with its gigantic screen, but that only makes the Runnymede more exciting. Now, the first press shots of the handset leaked and we can pin-point all the differences starting with the white paint job up front, the design and ending with the software.

The snow white HTC Runnymede is powered by a single-core 1.5GHz processor working along with 768MB of RAM. The resolution of the screen is 480 x 800 pixels (WVGA), which might seem a bit low stretched on such a huge display for the most pretentious of pixel density enthusiasts, that is. The device is also expected to feature a top-notch camera, but we had no details about any technical details.

The Runnymede will be among the first devices arriving with Beats Audio, HTC’s latest acquisition, which is expected to bring top-notch audio to the phone. All of that, though, comes for a price - nearly $840 (530 pounds) for the 16GB model and some $885 (560 pounds) for the 32 gig variation. Those are all off-contract prices in the UK, so we expect that if the phone arrives stateside, it will get subsidized and the final price might change. HTC’s September 20th event, might bring the rest of the details and it’s coming soon, so stay tuned.

if you want a beta os, get WP7. WP7 is almost alpha if you ask me.

Alpha would suggest random reboots and crashes. Beta says it's not ready for public use due to errors. Wp7 is beyond that. Stick to your beloved Bada OS.

can't believe the specs on these, i would think that even the average consumer would want a higher end phone than this anymore. while i enjoy the phone being offered in something other than black, i think its a big fail

The average customer doesn't know what pixel density is. Neither do they care about specs in general. The average customer focuses on what is actually important: performance.

4.7 inch phone with a single core processor!?!?! ugh, pass. If imma put a monster in my pocket, it better be a monster, not a midget in an ogre suit.

This one better comes to AT&T cause I really need to get rid of my Atrix every other hardware that comes out beats my Atrix and it already feels old.
