Do you fancy the idea of using NFC for mobile payments? (Poll results)
Analysts and industry insiders really enjoy talking about the NFC era that is set to arrive pretty soon, and our poll, which was active between April 8 and April 13, points out that more than 50% of the people who voted in it are excited about the adoption of this payment method.

Indeed, we have a majority of 52.47% that claims it will welcome the NFC age with open arms, while 26.01% of you inform the society that NFC sounds like a clever acronym standing for identity theft or something like that. Last, but not least we have those people who represent 21.52% of all voters. These guys are not particularly convinced we will have that much of a choice in the long term, and when something is out of your control, then...  well, it's out of your control.

Technological development, sans some moral discrepancy, doesn't tend to yield to the opinion of the masses.

As I am taking the last two answers as negative, one is a flat "no", the other choice is a "I do not have a choice", which is a non-supportive, the 117-106 vote was a dead heat. Not surprised it is a very even split. While I voted yes, it is a new tech, and even I would not take advantage of it as a habit until I was convinced it was secure. I would use it if available, though, especially if I was still using a Blackberry.

I'm going back to using cash. The banks get enough fees from me without all this stuff. . . I don't think people realize that all these "credit" type of purchase cost everyone more--the business is charged a fee, you pay high interest, etc. . .

This is the first step towards a cashless society. The same technology being used today or will be used very soon is a prelude to the Mark of the Beast

We aren't far from cashless now. If they'd just add card slots to snack/soda machines I'd probably never bother with cash again.
