Android 2.1 for Motorola DROID to be out at the end of this month?

Android 2.1 for Motorola DROID to be out at the end of this month?
The big question that has been on the mind of all Motorola DROID users has been, "When am I getting my Android 2.1 update?" According to DroidLife, it should be by the end of this month. In calls to a pair of Motorola Reps, one says that the 2.1 upgrade will hit the DROID within the next 2-3 weeks. The other says it will happen at the end of Q1. Let's see, Q1 ends...in March! Of course, DROID owners have been down this road before. To add to this time frame, a forum member at the site mentions that he spoke with a Verizon rep who also confirmed that the DROID will receive the upgrade in 2 to 3 weeks. Once again, it is a case of seeing it before believing it.

Oh please, Motorola needs to gain my trust back after I've been let down three times! This could be another BS claim because Moto likes to hire gossipy people who can't keep their mouth shut on anything they hear (remember the official 2.1 details on the Moto forums?)

Yes all these tipstars are to fucking turstworthy. Last time around everyone said they new a verizon rep that said it was coming out this date and that date. Motorola is really dropping the ball here.

live wallpapers are THAT important to you? REALLY? Five screens? Get launcher+ beta....live wallpapers? honestly, are they THAT cool? no. 2.1 can come out when it comes out. im not hurtin

I agree, I mean having wallpapers in general is still better than what the iPhone can offer. Living wallpaper I'm sure slows things down and may drain battery faster. I still think it'll be a cool option but I'm not hungry for it.

I can't speak for the Droid but my Nexus runs longer with all day heavy 3g use with live wallpaper then any of my other androids. Don't know why or how and really don't care, just glad it does.

the most important part is that 2.1 brings performance updates and allows you to use gg earth, soon open GL 2.0 and adobe flash payer! this will not work on 2.0.1 the rest is just fun. ps then benchmarks are fair when comparing with the nexus one cuz now you got too much differences i the os.

create a nandroid, and brick it all you want! I'm not updating until 2.1 gets rooted, and some solid roms get developed.

I'd like the know the job position of that VZW rep claiming the update will be out in this time frame. the truth is no flashes have been received by VZW customer service reps about the 2.1 update for the Motorola Droid. Verizon never pre-announces updates, new phones, or new services until those things are a reality.
