Verizon to launch Samsung SCH-i830 next month

Samsung SCH-i830 smartphone is expected to be launched by Verizon Wireless on the 10th of January, 2006 for B2B channel and later (on the 24th) - for full retail, according to information revealed on Howardforums. The Samsung SCH-i830 practically has the same features as its predecessor SCH-i730, apart from the fact that it lacks WiFi capability and besides being dual-band CDMA it is also a dual-band GSM phone. The Samsung SCH-i830 PDA is based on Microsoft Mobile for Pocket PC Phone Edition 2003. It features:

  • 65k color TFT touchscreen display

  • Bluetooth

  • QWERTY sliding keyboard

  • SD memory expansion slot

  • 520 MHz Intel Bulverde processor

  • built-in Speakerphone

The Samsung SCH-i830 will be available for the price of $819.99 or for $699.99 with two-year agreement.
