Tancher unveils Mago luxury smartphone

Tancher Industry has unveiled the luxury Mago smartphone, running on Windows Mobile 2005 OS. The device, which focuses both on appearance and functionality is designed by Maslovdesign Studio and engineered by Tancher. It is slim with special scratch-resistant, titanium, stainless steel and magnesium coatings for the housing and the mechanical parts. It is a quad-band GSM/GPRS phone with candybar form factor and internal antenna. The main features include:

  • 2.8-inch QVGA 262k color TFT touch display
  • SD/MMC/mini-SD memory expansion slot
  • 624 xScale processor
  • 128MB RAM; 128MB Flash memory
  • 2.5mm stereo audio jack
  • Bluetooth class 2, v1.2/Wi-Fi 802.11b/USB 2.0 connectivity

 

Mago smartphone is expected to be available in the middle of 2006 at the exceptionally high price of 3000 Euro, according to a Russian site.

Now smartphone users can listen to a virtually unlimited supply of their own music using Amazon Cloud Player. Users can fill up to five megabytes of storage free, and Amazon throws in other sweeteners that could make it an attractive option to iTunes. By taking the lead in cloud tunes without waiting to land licensing agreements from tunes labels, Amazon has gotten the jump on Google and Apple, who are in the midst of such negotiations.
