Motorola unveils M-Wallet solution for cellphones

Motorola has introduced its new solution for mobile phones, called M-Wallet that allows users to pay their bills, transfer money within or outside of the country as well as make a point-of-sale purchase anywhere, anytime, just with the help of their handsets. M-Wallet is also orientated to merchants' needs as it provides them with a new way to market their goods and services. It consists of two components: M-Wallet application, which can be downloaded by both consumers and merchants and the WalletServiceCenter, which allows the operator to manage administration, registration, issuance of credit and debit cards, coupons, archiving, customer profiles and maintenance. M-Wallet is not dependable on any specific network technology or mobile phones' platform. Motorola plans to demonstrate its new solution at 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona next week.
