Costco keeps us informed about the Samsung DROID Charge

Costco keeps us informed about the Samsung DROID Charge
For the second time within a week, Costco sent out a notice to its reps that the Samsung DROID Charge has been delayed. While no specific reason has been given, the warehouse membership club obviously got the word from Verizon. The latest memo says that, "Verizon is committed to delivering a high quality experience on all 4G devices".

With Big Red's second LTE device on hold, a "do not sell" flag is up at Costco. The original memo that we reported on Tuesday, noted that this delay is in force at all national retailers. The next update from Costco will be May 9th and we eagerly await the next report which hopefully will give the Samsung DROID Charge a green light for launch.

Its not Samsung. Verizon keeps pushing back the release due to "stress tests" on LTE. its hurting samsung more than verizon they arent getting the contract with verizon filled. it was supposed to start selling 4/28 now its the 7th in that time they could have sold (optimistically) 100,000 units in the first day and maybe 40,000 every day after. this is kinda nuts they should release the device and just let customers know that all 4g isnt perfect or something along those lines.

how is the delay hurting samsung.?What difference does it make whether they sale 100,000 units today or 2 weeks from now. samsung is still going to get their money regardless.

It hurts Samsung because of the perception of the problem being with the phone, not with Verizon.

Verizon physically has the phone in stock, it has nothing to do with samsung. It's issues with Verizon's network that is delaying the launch... Just FYI.

At&t is a bad move. They don't even have 4G, they have 3.5G. Verizon is the only company to have the real 4G which is LTE technology. At&t said at best if they do get to buy out T Mobile it will take them at least a year to develop a LTE network after that. So I agree the fascinate was a really bad phone but just wait for this one or probably a better samsung later this year. Or even get the droid bionic if you want both fast web browsing and good reception. Because those two things aren't going to be on ANY At&t phone this year or next year.

I agree, I was with ATT for a long time, at first the coverage was good, but more and more dropped calls occurred, and it wasn't the phone's fault While I hate the way BigRed' nickel and dimes you over everything, their coverage is much (much) better overall.

I am a manager at target mobile I have this phone in stock and had one of my employees sell me one. The 4g is up in the metro ny area I have no idea why they are waiting to put it out. I had the go to sell it for a couple days from my dm then after a couple days he told me to stop but I still have mine. Theres nothing wrong with the phone or the 4g I'm getting speeds of 11mbs on downloads. They're just slacking off of have something else they want to put out before this phone.

never ever put where you work on the internet buddy, LP departments eat that stuff up.... smh :/

i agree carefull putting where you work target mobile was told since day one not to sell it. Ive seen people lose jobs and companies lose rights to selling phones over that . Heck if it was apple the have taken people to court and sued. And the reason like stated before is not the phone and yes the 4g works in certian areas. The problem there facing is right now if to many people have 4g lte phone that it bogs down the network. If you work for target mobile then im sure your aware of the lte outage a few weeks back. The whole network almost country wide crashed from to many people using it at once. They are holding the launch of the Charge because they are afraid of the 100,000 predict sales and what it will do to the network. Where as you one Charge will make no difference so your's will work the 100,00 will make it crash again. Go Verizon lol
