The good

  • Battery is a huge upgrade.
  • SoC is expected (I wouldn't buy a 2025 phone with 2024 SoC).
  • Refresh rate increase to 165hz is nice to have, but not necessary. (120hz is already fast enough and better than what Apple offers.)

The ok

  • Camera could still be good, just depends on their software optimization/updates.
  • Resolution decrease is not a deal-breaker (My first smart phone was 854x480 pixels and they have only gotten better each year. Plus, it may end up being a good battery-saving technique.)

The bad

  • Taking away the Alert Slider is the deal-breaker for me. (Didn't they already try that with the 10T and it was a colossal failure, so they had to make sure to bring it back?)

Having a flat screen is a huge upgrade over a curved one, so that actually upgrades the screen even if resolution is *slightly* lowered.
