I would say the only con is price. Not being Google dependant is a major plus. Any software outside of the influence of the dangerous world police state is good.
Of course it would be a major plus, but there's some who disagree because they low key admitted that Huawei needs Google services because HarmonyOS is severely lacking.
I'm not sure of what happened in the past. But I'm pretty sure if you ask him now, he'll say Huawei does not need Google because they're doing well of in software, hardware and sales. So I'd say, give it a go and ask his opinion now.
I'm not going to go in circles considering that I don't need to be aggressive unlike others because of bias. I would say that the grade is inaccurate given the context.
It's amazing how some individuals claim to not be doing something yet becomes aggressively defensive because of obvious bias for anything not Huawei. It's all the because I said that the score was not spot on in an OPEN FORUM.
