iPhone case from Mophie integrates credit card reader
If there’s one area where a huge surge is going to occur very shortly, it’s going to have to be in the mobile payment sector. Mophie, an iPhone accessory maker, plans on unveiling a really neat case at CES which integrates a credit card reader. Although the iPhone case does take away from the iPhone's aesthetics, it’ll provide business users an option to allow credit card transactions on the iPhone with the aid of an application. Now is probably the ripe time for Mophie to unveil it – seeing that the mobile payment system hasn’t been fully grasped. Getting a head start is most likely the best scenario for them right now – plus the case will protect your iPhone of course. Ultimately it’ll come down to how usable it will become and how well it’ll be correctly positioned as a good business tool. We’ll have to wait until CES to visually see how successful this accessory will become.

You VZW fagboys just can't get over it. Did you read the article????? "...it’ll provide BUSINESS USERS an option to allow credit card transactions on the iPhone with the aid of an application..." If you're not gonna read the article you could probably refrain from posting anything unless you wanna continue to prove your ignorance...

Damn Fanman... You are retarded. Yes, I used the word retarded. You despise everything that has to do with Apple. Apple didn't even come up with this... it was a different company. Small business owners would love this. It makes their business portable. Fanboys...Stop!

You like my line enough to use it, huh? Fanman is a fanboy, hence my commence. Get a clue. Also there, Cooter, this is about something to help businesses out. I am more than sure this will come out for the Droid (Android at that). When it does, my compliments to it will be expressed. Your comments are irrelivant. Hell, I don't even know why I am wasting so much time responding to you. Thanks for being a contributing factor of my life being wasted. This is why I hate stupid people: I feel a moral obligation to straighten out your twisted and warped sense of thinking. Thanks Cooter... and all you other morons out there.

I can see this as a great tool for a number of businesses that do work at peoples homes. Gardeners, Plumbers, window washers etc. They can process the transaction on location right away. This tech is not really related to iphone/android debate as much as everyone here wants it to be. Released by a 3rd party company, it will be released on iphone first which makes sense (due to higher adaption rates). Though android support will come soon after... As much as HOVA hates the idea, Android is now becoming a popular OS. Now there is finally more models then just the G1 and they are getting popular. I see more coming for android then I see even, coming for blackberry which amazes me. Though the key is that android has a similar interface/user base as the iphone (personal home, not business like blackberry).
