I'm glad to see Verizon attempting to get decent phones for a change. It's about time.. I'm sure they'll find some way to cripple them, downgrade the memory, or throw in an extra charge.

I believe Verizon only did that with the Touch Pro. They must have learned their lesson, as they did not do that with the Touch Pro 2. The Imagio seems to have the same specs as the TP2, despite the lack of slide out keyboard. The Tao/Sholes/Whatever appears to be a beast of a device. So, yep....Verizon is still up to their same old tricks.

NO... VZW did not cripple the Touch Pro... they didn't even get the Touch Pro, they chose the Raphael, which was an inferior device and called it the Touch Pro. They chose it becuase they wanted the TD and the TP to look the same. I also agree it was a stupid decision becuase the TP was sooooo bad. But they did redeem themselves by picking up the correct TP2.

Why does the screen on the Sholes/Droid/ whatever look so dull? And it's not running Blur, so what's the hype? Meh, at least VzW's getting Android. I seriously hope another US carrier gets the iPhone so at&t will be forced to look at Android.

The hype is that this means VZW is getting ever closer to releasing the Sholes/Shules/Tao/Driod/C3po/R2d2. Blur appears to have no real redeeming value and is targeted at high school students and that bright blue T-Mo android handset they unveiled it on. I'm glad its not on the Droid.

Considering at&t is looking at releasing 2 android handsets within the next year or so what does another carrier getting the iPhone have to do with anything?????

You need to remember that they are cropping a small portion of the original image. Following this they need to scale it down so that the image wont drink bandwidth. If you would rather see a better image go to the VZW press page and download the full image. Then use your own cropping tools. Although the image above was credited to AP so the image you get is all ready optimized for the web more than likely. Dont you love Low rez web images?

why didn't they keep the original design that we saw on the first photos (the one with 3 buttons on the bottom)? I think it was much more stylish and sleek. Its not the first time Verizon makes bad decisions about the design of their phones... At least their Hero looks better than Sprint's Hero...
