The BlackBerry 9650 gets delayed again - sporting a name change as well?
Even though there are some minor improvements expected with the upcoming BlackBerry Tour2 9650, there are still rumors swirling around its eventual launch. The latest pieces of information point out that some Verizon stores did manage to get shipments of the BlackBerry Tour's successor, but they had to be sent back for “updates.” Big Red may be keeping the brakes on the BlackBerry 9650 until the official OS 5.0 shows up for the original Tour 9630. Just like them, Sprint will also be graced with the handset,  but it's speculated that their units are having some Wi-Fi problems. Additionally, it looks like the official name for the BlackBerry 9650 may no longer be called the Tour2 – instead, it seems like it'll be changed to the BlackBerry Bold 9650. So far from all the leaked photos regarding the handset, it does look more similar to the BlackBerry Bold 9700 that AT&T and T-Mobile are offering. With still no confirmed time table of when this device is expected to get the green lights, customers eager to snatch up this handset will have to wait a bit longer.

Who cares? Black Berry is yesterdays news. All of their devices look the same. Nothing special with BB except stocks, email, and other business stuff.

I kind of agree. I have the 9630, and I really like it. But with all the Android devices and Windows Phone 7 stuff coming out, my BB is starting to look pretty basic.

Blackberry is marketing to a certain group of people that like the standard layout/design. They're also working on competing with other phones with phones like the Blackberry Storm 2. As for OS, they have development yet, but 5.0 has been released for some handsets and 6.0 is on the horizon. I plan to buy this phone, I don't like the layout of any of the "android" phones. To each his own, I don't comment "who cares" on phones that I don't plan to buy, they obviously posted this article for people like myself and not you. Believe it or not, PA is posting articles for everybody, not just you.

I agree this phone has taken way too long and now it sounds like they plan to just release the Bold on Verizon. I think the Bold is a great phone, but I need a phone sooner then later. Hopefully the updates make it worth the wait.

We've been waiting for a Blackberry with WIFI. The Curve released on VZW didn't have a flash.

Yeah I am sick of waiting for this phone too. I am getting to the point where I might get a droid if it doesn't come out by next month.

I have the blackberry tour and it is my first blackberry. After having it for 7 months, I don't see what the big deal is about a blackberry. Interesting that every other carrier has released the OS 5.0 for the Tour except Verizon and now the Tour 2 is delayed for "updates" and still no update for the the orginal tour. I will be going to android as well.
