According to a tip from a “known source” for SonyAlpha Rumors, the ExpressOn QX-100, the pricier of the two interchangeable lens that we highlighted for you a while ago will sell for $450.
Dubbed DSC-QX100 in full, the lens is said to magnetically attach itself to a variety of smartphones (both Android and iOS) and provide a 20.2MP CMOS sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 3.6x optical zoom – an equivalent to the lens of the pricier RX-100 II camera (about $750 currently). In other words, while we see what Sony has in mind, the lens seems bound to remain a strictly niche product.
Sony's ExpressOn lens use NFC tech to instantly connect the smartphone with the accessory, but you can make use of it even without it – you'll just have to connect it manually.
