Samsung Galaxy Nexus officially on sale in UK
As of 8 AM this morning GMT, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus officially went on sale in the UK through Phones4U, but will come to other major carriers in the next few days according to Google.

Google sent out a tweet this morning from the official Google Nexus account, and that was really the only announcement Google made. The tweet read simply, "Galaxy Nexus is landing in the UK! 8am at Phones4U, or over the coming days from O2, Three, or Vodafone." And, sure enough that's exactly what happened, aside from a small mishap with the very first customer

And, if the Phones4U page is any indication, the Google Nexus is priced to move at just £59.00 (~$93) on a 2-year contract. That is far less than the reported $299 on-contract price that US customers may have to pay at Verizon.

I would presume that the people of the UK give a crap about the release (and we do have quite a few European readers).

There is a world outside the US. It's quite nice really, and they're allowed to have nice things before us. Really, it's okay.

Here's a simple solution: try some herbal tea. Very soothing.

How about you have a cup of herbal shut the hell up! IM not saying the UK is a dump hippie! I've played soccer over there it's very nice. I'm just saying the hurry up and wait game is getting old. I'm sure there are things we get here first and they get just as mad!
So you have a cup of tea and not worry about my opinion! Very soothing!

Admittedly the herbal tea comment was over the line. I'm sorry about that. But, you have to admit your comment was a bit over the top.

Also, you seem to be very upset about this whole thing. Have you ever contacted Verizon or Google to voice your anger?

I know there's a lot of red tape to cut through when releasing anything in the US but an announcement with no expected release date is asinine. Maybe they're waiting til after Black Friday just so nobody gives a discounted price but I'm sure Amazon won't allow that. If it's out in the UK I think and they've already slated the device for November it only makes sense that they announce a US launch date...right?

I 100% agree with you! I think thats what everybody wants. Just give us a date and we can stop bashing verizon. I don't think its a lot to ask. Then you won't have people standing outside your building ready to tear it down. But I do think it will come this month. Of corse they said that about the bionic too!

Easy people. It is just a device, no need to get angry at people that are commenting, patience is the key here. Let's practice respecting other people's opinion without bashing them even we disagree. SMH

Hey Michael,
My response was way more so over the line. If I didn't hate tea as much as I do and you didn't happen to catch me on the wrong morning I probably would have laughed about the whole thing. Contacting them isn't going to get anybody anywhere with those people they don't care. "probably cause they all already have the phone haha!" anyway no hard feelings. Take care

Contacting them would do more good than yelling here. Imagine if all the people yelling on various comment threads and forums contacted Verizon directly instead. That could definitely make a difference.

PS, if you click reply on the comment you want to reply to, this would all be in a thread rather than yours coming up at the bottom.

Cool thanks a lot easier than posting. I have called them before about something and i asked about a phone and I got the same response we get in the stores. "I don't know they dont tell us until the day before" or some crap like that. But whatever all we can do is hurry up and wait like I said. Hope it lives up to the hype though. Cause they are talking way better phones early next year!

I wish VzW would've been more upfront that they didn't intend on taking part in the global launch. Could've saved alot of consumer headaches if they were a wee bit more specific than simply stating "later this year". Then again, maybe they had a deal w/ Tylenol since they couldn't get money from their bloatware apps. on the Nexus.
