Why do things have to be bad for folks to go for a regional carrier? For folks who don't leave their metropolitan area, these companies are often the smart way to go. Those of us who pay for Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint, pay for nationwide coverage, but how often do you really use it? A lot of us don't, but pay for it anyway for the better phones.

Yeah but their regional coverage still sucks. They offer a very good deal, but they can't back it up with good reliable service. I would switch to MetroPCS if they were a good network.

MetroPCS is good for what it does, but the coverage is not very reliable, my co-worker has MetroPCS, but can't get reception inside the building, wheras I get full bars!

Hell, all I need is NY/NJ/CT range, that is good enough - unless I plan to travel beyond that region.
