Mediatek working on new deca-core Helio X27 processor
According to a leak from Chinese social network Weibo, MediaTek has a new chipset with a deca-core CPU in the works. It's called the Helio X27 and is said to be based on a 20nm manufacturing process. The maximum clock frequency is indicated as 2.59GHz.

With these specifications, the Helio X27 will be positioned between the current X25 chipset found in handsets such as the Meizu Pro 6, and the company's upcoming X30 premier-tier silicon – which means upper mid-range level performance.

Reportedly, the first smartphone based on the Helio X27 will be a LeEco device, continuing the Chinese hardware and media company's partnership with MediaTek. Next week, LeEco is going to introduce two of its handsets to the U.S. market, though they both run on Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets.
