What would the world be in 2013? Are we going to drive electric cars or go to work with helicopters? One can hardly say for sure. A Portio Research survey however, states that even 5 years ahead, messages will continue to be the most profitable (for the carriers) way of non-voice communication. According to their report, the mobile messaging industry worth $130 billion in 2008, and in 2013 it’s expected to reach $224 billion. Looks like the economic recession won’t really influence this element of the industry.
Although that many ways of communication like multimedia messages, e-mail and IM have been created in recent years, SMS messages continue to be the most popular one. The reason is that it is the cheapest method, moreover – it works with all phones and networks. A fresh example for the love of people towards messaging is our favorite teenager that managed to send 14,528 messages in one month.
