toshiba ts 921

have got the new toshiba ts 921 for 2 days now. not too long, though enough to get thru most of the features and state an overall opinion. global rating first: good phone, lot of features, excellent (!) camera and hi-res display (!!). really fast processor. mobile tv better than competitors. even video best i have seen on a mobile (though this still means not convincing...). good mp3-sound with headset, even with speakers. lots of features i do not use (java, email-client...). good mechanical impression. unfortunately looks bigger than it is (i wonder how designers managed) - compare it in a shop yourself.

minor problems are - like with most mobiles - in some details. structure of files is NOT transparent at all (try to find the pictures you took a second ago...). many features not logical (why can i record a voice memo in one menu, but can erase it only in another?). so, if you want to use the phone and the camera - go for it (that is what i do). if you want to play with media a bit - it is okay. if you consider it a pda-like device you can work with similar to your laptop (yes, i did dare hoping to do so) - no, not yet. maybe next generation.

one problem: i intended to use a sd-card i have owned for some time (256 mb). does not work properly. i guess access is too slow, so the camera refuses to write pictures to the card from time to time. annoying, need a new one - hope, this helps (i heard new sds are faster).

still, good phone, good value for money. and good buy.
