June security update coming to Sony Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra

Sony Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra owners should feel a little more secure following the latest OTA update sent out to the 2017 mid-range duo. The firmware patch contains the Android security patch for the month of June and should bump the build number of the XA1 and XA1 Ultra to 40.0.A.5.66 and 42.0.A.3.30, respectively.

Currently, there's no information about the size of the update or whether it includes any other changes. As such, if you happen to own one of these handsets and you've noticed anything new, please let us know in the comments.

When you get a notification for the software upgrade on your handset, make sure that your phone is sufficiently charged and connected to a Wi-Fi network before proceeding. If you haven't received one already, you can check for the update manually by heading to Settings > About Device > Software Updates.
