HTC 11 rumored to have powerful chip, borderless screen and a huge amount of memory (update)

UPDATE: Upon further inspection, we've determined that the leaked information is most probably the result of fan fiction, and not a legit leak.

The HTC 11 smartphone has yet to be unveiled, but already a tipster seems to know exactly what the specs of the new flagship model are going to be. This source says to expect a 5.5-inch display on the phone, with a sharp 1440 x 2560 resolution. Powering the unit will be the just announced Snapdragon 835 chipset carrying an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 540 GPU.

Rumored to come with the HTC 11 is a whopping 8GB of RAM. That should make multi-tasking a snap. And with 256GB of native storage, users will be able to download and install a ton of apps as well as store many pictures and videos. A dual-camera setup is on back with both cameras weighing in at 12MP, and an 8MP front-facing camera takes selfies and handles video chats.

Not known for stuffing its handsets with large batteries, the 3700mAh cell rumored to be inside the HTC 11 should provide plenty of power. Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4.0 replenishes the battery 20% faster than Quick Charge 3.0. Android 7.0 is pre-installed along with HTC's Sense 8 UI. The phone is expected to be launched sometime in 2017, priced in the U.K. at the equivalent of $691 USD.

We're not exactly sold on the authenticity of the picture that the tipster included with his rumored specs, so we would suggest that you take this rumor with a grain of salt.

I'll wait to see what the Huawei P10 has to offer, but I'm excited for this one. I used to be a HTC fanboy, but then they let me down after the original One. This could bring me back.

I've been using the 10 since it came out and I am lovin it. I think they made a move in the right direction. Just give me some waterproofing and we'll be golden. Even though, you dont NEED it with the uh oh protection that comes free with the purchase.

They better not get rid of that speaker arrangement because after six months, it finally hit me just how spoiled they have me after buying a backup phone.

What is that speaker arrangement?

Two firing speakers one a bit higher frequency than the other. It makes for really crisp and detailed sound on videos.

Haha was seeking clarification as I don't know if you are referring to the dual front facing configuration. Similar to you, I'm sold on that. Really nice arrangement, and unexpected quality.

256GB memory and 8GB RAM, along with a 3700mAh battery... That's too good to be real. I 'm rooting for the HTC 11, big time... And with a less than $700 price tag to begin with... It definitely has me interested.

Megapixels != Higher Quality

Megapixsels = higher definition not higher quality Optical zoom is better but I guess there's no need for it if its 21MP. Nokia pure view is one of the best phones in terms of camera for sure.

How much? And if HTC want to have good sell they better not go for exclusive scrap like they did.

Where does the saying "take it with a grain of salt" come from? These guys use it a lot.

People used to say that if you were to be poisoned then a pinch of salt could be an antidote to it. Therefore people would take threats of being poisoned with a grain of salt or in other words: not as a real threat because you now have the antidote.

Hopefully they learned a thing or two from the Pixel line? Apart from that all their phones have been pure fail these 2 years.

Seems too good to be true with respect to price as well...

The RAM thing is not true for sure, it will probably has 4 or 6 GB, and the 256 GB internal storage could be true, but I think there will be a 128 GB version too, and you will not find many 256 GB versions. The dual camera stuff could be true, along with the battery capacity.

If the 10 had a 5.5" screen and had been available on AT&T with their payment plan, I would've gotten it back in June.
