Motorola KRZR K1 receives FCC approval - not 3G

The FCC finally approved the recently rumored Motorola Canary or KRZR phone (the successor of the RAZR family) under the model name K1 GSM (as the name given when the phone got Bluetooth approval). The FCC documents show that the K1 is just a quad-band GSM with EDGE support and that it will not be a 3G phone. The exact specifications are still not confirmed, but probably the main display of the clamshell phone will be 176x220 pixels 262k color one, while the camera, featuring auto-focus and flash, will have a resolution of 2-megapixels. The Bluetooth is v1.2 and supports profiles like A2DP (Stereo Audio) and GAVDP (Generic Audio/Video Distribution). The internal memory can be expanded with microSD cards, but unfortunately the slot is “hidden” under the battery cover.
