Worst Phone ever

Phone owned for more than a year

This is the worst phone ever. I drop calls 20 times a day, the battery needs to be recharged after 40 minutes worth of use, and the sound.quality is not much better than Skype. According to Metro's coverage Map I should have good service but it sucks. Both Metro and Nokia will not stand behind this phone. I will never buy a Nokia phone or use the Metropcs service again.

I Hate This Phone!

Phone owned for

1. Dropped calls
2. Dropped calls
3. Dropped calls
4. OFTEN, (and not having it set to 'silent' or vibrate only) the phone doesn't ring at all but will sound an alert for a message seconds after it was left.
5. Changing Profiles takes 5 presses (plus navigation) even though I have set it with Profiles at the top of the settings list.
6. Alarm doesn't go off or goes off at some unspecified time.
7. When alarm goes off the screen flashes on and off so I can never clearly see where to press for Snooze or Off. There is no option to change the flashing.
8. I don't have large hands but the buttons are so small I often make errors.
9. Poor User Guide-All I wanted to look for was info on Timed Profiles and it's not even listed.
10. Call log fails to report many Missed/Received/Dialed Calls
11. There are so many icons on the small screen they keep the time from being displayed. If there is an option to keep certain icons from showing on the screen, I can't find it.
12. When entering a phone number, a hyphen isn't automatically inserted. It's a pain in the *** to insert one (especially when entering a few at at time) so the numbers run together making it harder to read them when you need to.

WORST PHONE I HAVE EVER USED!

Phone owned for

Dropped calls, low volume, texts arriving 30-45 minutes later, turns on and off by itself, NOTHING positive to say about this little phone - DO NOT BUY. Gets so heated when re-charging, God only knows how many grey cells this phone has killed when I have tried to use it! POOR quality, NOKIA really blew it on this phone.

POS!!! DO NOT BUY!!!

Phone owned for

I have had this phone for almost two months now. The screen freezes, it randomly turns off by itself. This morning I woke up and it was dead. I plugged in the charger and nothing. It wouldn't even turn on. Finally it started to charge but then it kept shutting off even more than usual. My aunt bought this for me off of Metro PCS website for 30 dollars. Should have known right then how it would be lol. The battery life is not that good, even if you're just using it to text. When I talk to people I have to repeat myself, as do they, a lot because it's very hard to hear one another. It's very frustrating. Sometimes, when I have the phone on silent, my ringtone will still play but only from halfway through the song. And sometimes when I answer the phone, you can hear my ringtone playing then too. The alarms don't work well, they mess up and usually makes it so you can't hear them or they randomly turn to a time that you didn't put in. I have never dropped it, and it has never touched water. I am currently looking for a better phone. I suggest those who have this phone or want it, do the same.

One of my fav fones. only con was the not being able to receive multimedia messages.

Bought an aftermarket battery off Ebay for like 5 bucks that worked soooooo much better than the stock nokia battery it came with. Internet works hella faster than the other phones I've had and the "newer ones" that me and my man just upgraded to. You can download media and pics right off the net. Bluetooth connectivity, so i was able to get and send pics  and songs to my friends when they were around lol. Has games, and i LOVE that with nokia phones you can choose what numbers to restrict from calling you and vice versa! no more annoying wrong numbers that pester you or telemarketers for that matter!!! You can edit pics that you have, which is more than i can say for most other phones(just bought a camera phone and u cant do that crap lol)

I admit txting sometimes lags, but its easy to text with this phone comfort wise.
speaker phone works cool. I havent had a problem with any drop calls, could be a battery thing? NO idea. mine works fine. My batterys been dead but hella weird my alarm stll goes off at 7am alarm setting lol. i dont use the phone, it snoozes right, but then again i usually scope my phones and know them front and back. im a nerd haha

If this phone hada cam and mms messagin i would hella keep it. The internets the shit on this phone. some pges with the newer cells will revert the url to mobile, the Nokias can view them directly. AND you can get yahoo mail which is one of the biggest plusses for me. if you do online banking the phones compatible with b of a app and has the option on metro.

Most Disappointing Nokia Ive Ever Owned

Phone owned for

Ive had this phone for less than a year and Ive already had to swap it twice due to the same issues. Ive have preferred Nokias for over 10 years and this is by far the worse ever made. This phone is alright for the modest user who only make a few phone calls but it is horrible for the user like myself who likes to put to use many of its functions and relies on the calendar and reminders on a daily basis. This phone has thoroughly disappointed me.

Pro's
1. Clear screen resolution
2. Very Compact
3. Solid design
4. Easy volume control on the side
5. Low cost

Con's
1. Difficult to hear conversations clearly even at maximum volume.
2. Freezes frequently from just navigating through menus too quickly.
3. Alarm functions work at random. Ive used all my previous cell phones as my alarm clock to wake up, never having an issue. This phone caused me to be late various times in the first week I owned it from lack of going off. I was forced to buy a separate alarm clock for the 1st time in over 10 years.
4. Reminders hardly ever go off on the date & time they are programmed and tend to almost always go off at midnight.
5. Poor Battery Life for those who speak frequently. The battery warning goes off only minutes before the phone dies.
6. Cannot text quickly on it because the programming cannot keep up, thus it misses typed characters.
7. Ring tones randomly sound sluggish and broken up as if the phone struggles to run the program producing it.
8. The small speaker holes frequently get easily covered due to their small size, thus the phone calls cannot be heard.
9. Some menu functions are cumbersome and/or poorly organized.

Most Disappointing Nokia Ive Ever Owned

Phone owned for

Nokia has definitely reduced their quality in this phone. Ive already had to swap this phone twice in a few months & all 3 phones had the same issues they cant address. This phone is alright for the very modest cell phone user who simply makes phone calls infrequently & nothing else. For those like myself who frequently use various functions, this phone is sub-par & by far the worse brick-style phone Nokia has ever created. I have been drastically disappointed.

AVOID

Phone owned for

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!
You'll be tempted to by the price and the look of the thing -its small and sleek- but thats where it ends. The battery life is terrible. You can charge it one night andf the next day it will die, have more than 3 conversations in one day and expect not to have a phone by that night. Thats the worst part of it ***** BATTERY LIFE!
It drops basically every other phone call; I live in New York City -hardly a dead-zone- yet I have to call friends back 4 and 5 times because the signal is just so bad.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE. You'll spend all day staring at the battery indicator worried that the next half a phone call you make will cut out. Spend the little extra and get something else

This phone is NOT for me.

Phone owned for

I purchased this phone because of the colors and look of the phone but mainly because of the price. I was disapponted when purchasing the phone because the advertisement stated that there were no games on the phone, however once I left and started playing with the phone I did find a few games (bonus). Sudoku, Kakuro and Moon Sweeper
One thing that I do not understand about this phone is that I can download pictures and ringtones from the internet, but I cannot receive multi-media (picture and sounds) messages from my friends.
I drop calls more so with this phone than any other phone that I have EVER had. I can drop a call standing still. I have been with Metro for over 10 years so I know where a lot of "dead" zones are. This phone is a magnet for them and even drops calls in areas that normally have full signal and I have never had a problem in before. I can be on a call and all you can hear is every other word. grrrrrrr
The phone does not give me the option to differentiate ringtones between incoming text messages and voicemails (not that big of a deal, just a little aggravating)
While in the middle of a conversation, if I have an incoming call, text or voicemail, my conversation is cut out long enough for the alert to come through and then goes back to normal. It should be a light background type noise. The person on the other end cannot hear the sound, but cannot hear what I am saying when the noise comes through and vise versa.
Next to the calls dropping, the next most aggravating thing about this phone is that the #3 key sits right next to the "End" button. I text message A LOT. Needless to say I hit the end button many, many times in the middle of texting, dialing or even playing a game. The text message and game actually save before it ends and I just have to open the folder back up to get to it and start where I left off. Probably sounds more like I should slow down and pay more attention to what I am doing than anything to do about the phone.
I am not sure if this is my phone or if this is the service, but there have been a few times that I have tried sending text messages and they will not even leave my phone. It would not be that big of a deal but it is for an entire day at a time.
Another good thing about this phone is that, unlike my last phone, it does not send my text messages more than once. My last phone would send a message 2 times or more if I didnt have signal at the time.
Next up, the alarm setting. If you do not exit out of an alarm when it goes off, then you are hitting snooze. Sounds like common sense, right? Well, it does not go off again until MIDNIGHT. Nuff said?
The keys on the phone are not aligned very user friendly. I often hit the wrong keys.
And the last thing, I think this is actually true of all Metro PCS phones but every few minutes my phone will just light up. Then my screen saver comes on, then it goes dark. This happened with my last couple of phones from them and I cannot find a setting to make it stop.
This phone would be great for someone who just needed it for emergency type situations or maybe a teenagers first phone. If you are going to be talking on it a lot or text a lot, I would NOT recommend it.

better than expected

Phone owned for

well it was between this and the $100 moto i got this cause they had a $30 discount the day of purchase.  i have a palm centro on sprint this was to be a work phone that i could call customers on without giving them my main number.  so far i liek the phone!  It is a great 2nd phone or if you are not too intrested in music or www it works great! The battery life may be short but it is p there with my centro. about 2 days.  but if you are used to a spart phone it wont bother you havign to charge every day or two!  Oh BTW MetroPCS is not on Sprint or Verizons CDMA networks they have built their own network!  If you do use the travel talk then that is roaming on sprint or verizon.  the WWW is slow, this is just a phone for talking i do feel that my bluetooth has better range & clarity than my centro also!

budget phone does good

Phone owned for

I've been a Sprintcustomer (on afamily plan) for 10 years or so.  I needed a phone strictly for business. I was going to go with the "EVERYTHING" plan with a smart phone, but was uncomfortable spending all that $$$.  A METROPCS store opened up in my town, so i went to check it out.  They gave me a $30 for my OLD sprint phone.  Decided to go with the Nokia 1006  So far so good.  Same CDMA network i was on before, bad areas are the same.
Texting is nice, everyone has complemented the sound quality, No more or less droped calles than my other phone.  Web browser is no so good, if you need that this is not the phone for you.
battery life seems ok, haven't used it all that much.  small light phone=small light battery
lack of a camera is fine with me.
I would recomend this phone to anyone going to Metro PCS

Nokia 1006

Phone owned for

This phone is great for the price. It's stylish and slim with a piano black faceplate finish and rubber grip on the back .Top of the line entry phone from Nokia. It has an amazing bright, great resolution TFT screen. It dosen't get any better than this for the price. It's small it can fit anywere. Truly an amazing peace of equipment. I  was expecting it to be a peace of garbage when i saw it at the MetroPCS store but i must admit i was wrong, the phone is great. I think this is the best phone out for metro PCS right now. You get the luxurious Nokia look for less than $80. You can't beat that. So if you're thinking about buying one you deffinintely should. When i first opened my metroPCS acount i dicided to buy the Motorola ve240, which is a horrible phone by the way. I paid $100 dollars for the phone and i had it for an hour. Within the hour the phone froze on me twice and the display was horrible. The resolution of the screen was just awful aswell as the size. So i went bact to metro and i told the guy that i was unhappy with my phone and he changed it for the Nokia 1006. I got the Nokia for $20 less and its a billion times better than that moto garbage. All in all, to wrap up my review, the phone is good for those that just wan't to make calls and check emails, if you wan't anythng more than this, it's probably not the phone for you. The only cons i see in this phone is that it lacks a camera, mp3 player, and expandable memory, but i really do not care about those features because i'm only interested in being able to actually talk on it. Great phone, Cheap Price, Luxiorious look. Nokia does make the best phones, hands down, next to Blackberry's of corse ;D
