I have had the INQ1 for a little over 3 weeks now and I have very mixed feelings about it. Its functionality is exceptional, access to Facebook, MSN Messenger, Skype & the internet are all simple to use and but a few buttons away. However the phone receives such poor signal, regardless of location that it makes these functions often frustrating to use, whilst also cutting phone calls on occasion.
The most notable issue with the phone is its very poor battery life. Whilst this may be extended by not automatically connecting to MSN/Facebook/Email etc, this would limit the initial purpose of the phone.
There are also a number of silly bugs that distract from this otherwise excellent phone. For example, when closing the handset to end a call it does not automatically lock the keypad, which kind of eliminates the purpose of using it for hanging up the phone to return to your pocket. Also on the note of sliding, the phone does feel loose and slaps about when open, making one think that it will break.
As one could imagine from a phone with a price tag so low, there are some quality issues, the speakers are awful, as are the earphones supplied (also unable to use 3rd party replacements) and the camera is so dire it makes me hark back to my first camera phone, which also had no flash.
The handset also crashes occasionally, however the phone restarts fairly quickly and this causes a lot less hassle than you would imagine.
However, bad things said and out of the way this phone is actually excellent. From the moment you open the superb packaging, which everyone would keep for the art/design; you feel that the phone has great potential. I enjoy buzzing about on facebook, the internet and checking my emails on the go and whilst you can do this with almost ANY modern telephone, the INQ1 implements them much further and better than most.
The contacts list is excellent, managing to merge all of your skype, telephone, msn and facebook numbers all under one name with their facebook profile photo being used when highlighted or calling them. You can also select someone in the contacts list and choose whether to call, text, facebook message, write on wall, poke, skype, email or msn. Which is very nice and enjoyable to use.
Overall I still rate this phone highly, it is just too charming not to. However, if you dont always get to charge your phone regularly (ie every day) you may find this phone just too much of a drag to deal with.
Although I have only recently bought this phone, I eagerly await the next installment of INQs mobile telephone. With issues raised and bugs ironed out, V2 should be the must have phone. If anyone from INQ were to read this I would just say one thing.... Release two versions of the same phone, the bargain cheap one and a slightly better one for a higher price, better camera, speakers and definately battery with the option of being able to buy spares please!
Hope you find this useful. This phone IS worth having.
