Sprint extends 4G roaming to users operating in Jamaica and Taiwan
Sprint announced today that users traveling to Jamaica and Taiwan will be able to utilize 4G roaming services, for the cost of $14.99 per day. The expansion is part of a collaboration, announced in late December, between Sprint, Jamaica's Digicel, and Taiwan's Global Mobile. The service will be open to users of the Sprint 3G/4G 250U USB Modem, or the Sprint 3G/4G U600 USB Modem.

“Sprint has partnered with Digicel and Global Mobile to further enhance the global 4G ecosystem with services that empower travelers on the go,” said Todd Rowley, VP of Sprint 4G. Users connecting with the Sprint SmartView connection manager will instantly see the Digicel and Global Mobile networks available.

Granted, the expansion would be more momentous if it were in even larger markets. But it bodes well for expansion to more European and Asian 4G networks. Business travelers will surely appreciate the ability to stay connected on the go, even when they are away from their beloved Sprint 4G network.

well thats coo. Besides Ive always liked sprints cdma roaming more than verizons cdma roaming. And now that they have 4 roaming thats even better. With sprint when u are roaming in mexico u get 3g evdo service. And with verizon u dont u only get 1x. I kno cuz i have a droid x and when i went to mexico city i only got a 1x signal on my droid and it said roaming in the screen and it only worked to call nd send txt messages ..internet, picture and video messaging didnt work at all. Now My friend on the other hand on her evo she was also roaming but her phone showed an evdo 3g signal and calling , internet and picture and video messaging worked fine just like if she were here in the states.

Did you check to make sure you enabled the data roaming in your settings? Because that is usually why that happens. VZW does have roaming capabilites in Mexico because I have had several customer who opt for the Plus Mexico plan every time they go. Also, make sure you are updating with #228 option 2 before you leave and you should notice when you get to Mexico you will have EVDO the whole time.
