Phone owned for

Found phone easy to use,no problems using bluetooth as i use blue ant for hands free operation and no problems with reception no matter where i am at as i just use it as a basic phone  no frills such as texting or e-mail or internet. only complant i have is with the battery life as have to charge battery evey other day and don't use the phone that much and specs state 6 hrs talk time and 14 days standby time, apparently someone at samsung doesn't know what they are talking about or didn't do enough research on the battery. outside of that really like my phone

poor phone

Phone owned for

This was my first phone that I had with T-mobile.  It stunk.  The battery life is poor.  I had to put it on the charger every night, sometimes 2 times a day.  Didn't talk on it that much.  Went through 3 phones and then I upgraded to a different phone.  Wouldn't reccomend this phone.

overall pretty good

Phone owned for

The Samsung T429 is overall a really great phone. It's really good for texting and everything. The only slight disadvantage it has is that their is no video and you cant set ringtones for text message sounds. Never get this phone near water!! I had mistakenly put my phone near the bathtub while my son was in the hospital so that i would know if a doctor called and it got water on it and it completley stopped working. I finally got it back working but the keypad doesnt work so i have to keep the phone slid down all the time so that i can call people. I am a big texter and it sucks because i cant even use the keypad anymore. And if I slide up the phone it stops working all together and i have to take the battery out and put it back in. T-Mobile wont give a replacement phone because of water damage....so if you consider T-mobile please be aware of that. Oh and the picture quality is great. I have taken many pictures with this phone and they sometimes came out better than my digital camera that i have. Very crisp and clear and i love the color effects that it has too....overall a really great phone just dont get it anywhere near water

This phone is a good, reliable phone. it's nothing special, nor fancy. it has it's flaws though. randomly it turns itself off.. It's weird. there's no video, and you can't set ringtones as text message alerts. Witch is a very bad thing for me. But its a lightweight durrable little thing. I've dropped mannny of times. yet only a few scrathches on the back. its got a good camera and very clear ringtones. Its got a very nice design. Easy for dialing and texting. I text alotttttttttt! And the buttons are still in great shape. So overall its a good phone. Not many features though. But it's all good. I reccomed it., exspecially for a great price. and it gets very good service in my country area.

Horrible phone options and customer service

Phone owned for

Phone has no reminder beep or tone for missed calls and messages. Low ring sound and poor reception on wifi and bluetooth, even in a big city such as Atlantic City. T-mobile was no help and would not change the phone for me, a 10 year client. Also called samsung themselves and they aren't even informed about their own products. All you get is tech support from India and you can't understand them. Even if you take the time to muddle through the language barrier they end up knowing nothing about the phone and tell you to find a t-mobile store. How is that for bad customer service! Ready to go back to my motorola P280 and throw this samsung T-339 in the trash! save your money here and don't buy! seems the past few years T-mobile tower reception has gone downhill and AT&T and verizon have the mbeat especially in Sedona, AZ.

Nice but slightly lacking

Phone owned for

I'm a big samsung fan and overall I love the t429, but it definitely has its faults. A great design, easier to dial/type than most other slider phones I've handled due to the slightly raised keys. I've heard complaints about the phone feeling flimsy and toy-like, although I haven't noticed that myself. It is lightweight but I consider that to be a plus personally. If the number you want is in your phonebook or the recent calls you don't even have to slide it open to use it which can be useful when your hands are full, mostly because sliding it open with one hand isn't always easy, that being the only slight issue with the design. The display is nice and clear, I've heard it doesn't have quite as many colors as some other phones, but I wouldn't have even noticed if I hadn't been told that, it looks great to me, just under direct sunlight though, it's very difficult to see, no matter what angle you hold it at. Nice camera especially for what it is, all the standard options, no video though. The sound is also fine, I haven't had any real problems with signal strength or loudness. As for features, it could have more, this doesn't bother me so much but I understand it's important to some people. You can't do as much in the way of internet, though there is instant messaging and downloadable ringtones and games, which there aren't many of to begin with. No video as previously mentioned, and one thing I actually do wish it had that it doesn't is voice dialing. This somewhat defeats the purpose of it being bluetooth enabled. But, besides those few missing features, it's a nice phone at a decent price. I'd recommend it.

This phone is a pretty basic sleek slider phone, it has really good signal and clear screen resolution. The camera cames out really good although it does not have video. But overall its a pretty decent phone!
