What? No Mp3s? No Camera? No video? No 3G? No Bluetooth? No touchscreen? What kind of PHONE is this? Wait, it's a Phone? That makes calls? Wow! Yes, it is, a PHONE phone. For simple, reliable calling and texting, the Samsung N105 is hard to beat. But the real test is that six years after it came out, it still does what it was designed to do very well. Where new cutting edge monstrosities like the hideously overpriced Verizon Storm has issues from day one, this little old phone, like so many other nameless Samsungs does a superb job in reliablity, ruggedness, simplicity, value and quality.
I've seen so many more expensive and fancier phones like high end Motorolas, Sidekicks, HTCs FALL APART with things like charger port issues (SK/HTC), the screen dying (Motos, SKs) and THEY STILL Haven't fixed the blasted problem! While Samsungs (and older Nokias) like this little N105 perform beautifully from day one to day 2000. With ZERO issues (maybe they just aren't as uh...COOL as a Moto/Sidekick/HTC?)
The TRUE test of a phone isn't how hot it is when it first comes out, it's how well it can hold its own and how relevant it is years after the fact. With it's basic but reliable package, the N105 definitely qualifies. A true piece of older depreciated but far from useless peice of digital technology, it still calls and texts away years after other models have bitten the dust. And its unique appearance combining the retro look of an antenna with an old school flip and battery charger cradle prongs with the more modern appeal of its very compact size and slim lines, it's not a bad looker either.
With a simple unlock code, this can even be used overseas in many places, highly unusual for a DUAL band phone. Usually, only tri and quad band phones can be used internationally. This has the 900mhz frequency for most foreign countries and the 1900 band for North/South America.
