Bought 1 for €130. It's the best of it's range.

K.O.:
- Surface is too much polished. Great for C.S.I. investigations...
- Not possible to turn FM Radio on without earphones.
- If used too fast it can stop working and the only solution is to remove battery to reset (too much frequent in recent phones!).
- Music player and sound could be better.
- [1] [2] [3] are not very easy to reach (not in my case: thin fingers).
- The battery "disappears" with full use (camera, video, music, apps).
- VGA camera needs good light to take excellent quality pictures. But who wants excellent pictures buys a dedicated camera!
- Im my case it just supports Vodafone cards. (not a true K.O.)

O.K.:
- Just need to push 2 times in the camera button to take and save a picture. 4 times for a video.
- "Push To Talk" (walkie-talkie) is great.
- Speachless when look at the screen.
- Very easy and fast to write text.
- 512MB Mini-SD card.
- Super compatible with PC. IrDa, Bluetooth, USB cable, and Nokia PC Suite.
- 1600x1200 VGA camera (1,92 Mega Pixels) is great. 640x480 video camera (640x480) (0,3072 Mpls with good frame rate) is also amazing.
- Price (in Portugal): € 130 (US$ 195) (UK£ 87)
- Games and demos for casual gamers are enough if you forget the PSP or the DS at home.
- Everything else...

The 6288 is a good cellphone to use but there are also some cons.

Pros
Huge screen with nice resolution
Slider mechanism is very smooth
Video recording on this phone is outstanding
good design
3g camera very tiny

Cons
music player is very simple, it doesn't even arrange them in alphabetical order
speaker is quite soft
very small internal memory
no auto-focus on the 2 mega pixel camera

Overall, it's a nice phone to use but it kinda gets boring after a while, go try the 6500 slide or the 5610 music

the batt is fine.i only need recharging after 3-4 days.and i use it to send at least 100 msgs a day plus listening to music on my way to office.this fone really rock's my world, thank's nokia,,,,,,,

The +ve :
-Big...no no...HUGE screen!
-Very good sound quality, similar to the Walkman in quality but the music player is way too simple, no playlist etc..
-Smooth slide contruction, slide is nice and durable, got this phone for about 4 months, no problem so far, a lot better than the infamous 6280.
-Comes with a 512mb memory card, thats a nice bonus.
-Extremely fast user interface, experienced no lagg what so ever.
-D-pad, personal preference actually, but I am sure most will prefer D-pad rather then a joystick.
-2Mp camera, not the greatest but neither the worst. Produces good pictures if light is sufficient , just enough for candid photos.
-3g, fast transfer of datas via bluetooth, cable and infared.
-Keypad response is a breeze, every press is very comfortable.
-Light weight and size just right, not too big actually.
-Strong backlight of screen and keys, backlight of keypad fades downwards, unique!
-Both colour choice of white and black are gorgeous, might be a hard choice.
-Battery life lasted 6 days with moderate use, splendid.
-Signal was very strong, I could make a call anywhere.
-Price was nearly half of the N80.

The -ve :
-No auto-focus, fussy photo-maniac cares :)
-Numeric keys 1, 2, 3 is placed too close to the the upper slide, meaning it will be harder to press for people will slightly bigger fingers.
-File management not as user-friendly as those in Sony Ericsson. Too much folders.
-Backlighting duration is only approximately 15 seconds, nope no adjustment can be made....sad.
-Active-standby mode not as well elaborated as those in the N-series, somewhat jaggy fonts and uneven placement of icons.(maybe Nokia didn't plan to promote the active-standby in this phone.)
-Battery cover, the most secured one I've ever seen in my life, practically needs a hammer to open it.(Not a bad actually)
-Charging icon look lik ant, I needed a magnifying glass just to make sure its actually charging, the battery icon is way too small....way too..
-Supplied earpiece of average quality, I needed to get a adaptor for my own earpiece, a must for music fans.

Overall rating:10/10, if not, 9.5/10
