just a random question? How would someone at "Microsoft" know this? I didn't know that they partnered with Apple and were privvy to their business arrangements. I would love for the Iphone to come. I am waiting very unpatiently. But the more people go around broadcasting unverified dates and information the worse everyone is going to be.

At this point, Apple has partnered with Verizon. That much is clear with the Ipad. However, this is still a partnership in its infancy, a phone has to be made and tested that is CDMA and LTE capable, and last I knew, Verizon tested their phones for like a year. Break that down and we might be waiting awhile.

Apparently there was a article released in Money Mag. this month(November) that the iphone will be released in early 2011... My mom is convinced it will be January, however there hasn't been any official statements saying that it will.

I know someone involved with Apple component development. That person told me last summer that the Verizon version of the iPhone was scheduled to be released in Jan '11.
I can't wait!!!

they could, but it would cost a pretty penny to get out of the AT&T contract

AT&T's contract expires 12-31-10. Verizon has been in serious contract negotiations with AT&T and will be getting the Iphone. There is no release date set and all those hoping for an early jan release.... keep dreaming. With the 30 day return policy that verizon has that would be the stupidest time for them to release the iphone. Best bet for a serious release date is going to be march or april.

i know some people that ive been working with for years though verizon i asked one of my buddies thee other week the iphone is planned for 1st quarter of 2011 but is still under testing and is hard to know when exactly and at&t has boosted there cancelling contracts from 175$ to 375$ just because of verizon is one of the best networks out there and there afraid there gonna lose all of the costomers because of the switch. the switch will happen in 2011 ts just hard to know what the phone will look like and how long exactly it wil be

will people put this shit to rest already...We would be very lucky to see an iphone before the midway completion of verizon's LTE 4G network in late 2011...as an employee for 3+ years I have been told multiple time we were getting in a shipment of iphones..all those instances have come and gone...look at the droid as they will far surpass the iphone within the next 3 months...at&t is gonna throw a fit and it is never gonna happen...

If I was Verizon, I would try my hardest to get the Iphone. What other way to beat your competition (AT&T) then by taking their most popular phone and making it yours. If it wasn't for the Iphone AT&T would be scrambling for revenue, probably merging with another carrier. Verizon is on top and would love to further distance itself from these other bottom-feeder carriers.
I don't know how many idiots I have heard over the last year wishing that Verizon would get the Iphone. Not because it was better than the Droids, but because they are idiotic sheep who are fascinated by that little apple logo... Even though the Droids are equal in my opinion, and will improve to be better than the Iphone, you still have millions of people out there who would use the Iphone just because of the name...

Have any of you guys asked yourself why you want the Iphone. The droids do most everything the Iphone does. If you love Itunes and want a phone to sync with that than get an Iphone if not, you'd more than likely be just as happy with any of the droids. The Droids have even been rated higher than the Iphone. And like i said does anyone have a good reason why the even want the Iphone other than it has the name Iphone.

All of the customers I have asked why the want the Iphone they either can not give me a reason or they say for the apps. The droids all have the Android Market. So I'd say get over your whole apple appeal and maybe expand your horizons.

i agree with everyone about the droids beating out the iphone here in the nxt couple months the droids can do jus as much as an iphone if not more and when i ask customers why do u want the iphone all they say is cause its an iphone then i would show them the droid and sell them the droid ive even had people with iphones flipswap them in for droids cause the fact they are way better phone

Some people enjoy the simplicity of the Iphone...some people enjoy the familiar options as is provided thru their ipods..ipads...macbooks etc..Others enjoy the Apple customer service and quality of product. I don't think we are saying Apple is a bad product here just that AT&T doesn't have the network to back it and provide their customer base with as many options as we at Verizon strive to offer. The Androids that we offer @ Verizon are awesome devices and should not even be compared with the Iphone because aside from the name/design/and app quantity which is quickly expanding every day due to so many app creators who are not so close minded and are making theirs iphone and android app ready...There are many more options on the Android not to mention the obvious difference if you dont like one design of the Android you have more than ONE style to choose from and also can have as much memory as you want with removable memory.
