From what I heard verizon discontinued ALL multimedia phones, which is the stupidest thing ever. I wanted to get the Samsung Reality next month, when I get my 1 year upgrade, but I went to verizonwireless.com and all i saw was smartphones and featured phones. I don't know why this happened but I also want to know why

This angers me as well. I'm also in the market for a phone upgrade. I dislike all of the feature phones (1.3mp cameras, cheap materials, poor sound quality, etc.) and I don't want to go to a smartphone either (poor battery life, easily breakable - have to add insurance + a data plan = ~$40 more a month... ugh. Why can't they make a good feature phone for Verizon. One that has good battery life, takes good photos, a qwerty and a smooth OS for txts, and great sound quality. I don't think I'm asking for much.

Ummm.... they didn't do away with Multimedia PHONES so much as they went away with the CATEGORY. Several phones out now are classified as "Feature" phones, when they would have been in the "Multimedia" category from before... Like the LG Octane (EnV 4) or the LG Cosmos Touch. Why don't we try thinking a little before we complain about something so obvious.

And as far as the Clout being retired, I'm not so sure it is. For one, it has never been available from Verizon. As far as I know, it was only available from retailers for Verizon. I mean, why else would it never have appeared on VZW's website, yet the retailer in my town has them? When I called VZW Customer Care about this phone, they had no idea that it even existed. It must be a special phone for non-corporate stores.

The Clout is available in a lot of non-Verizon stores (WalMart, Best Buy). From what I have found in researching, the availability has something to do with a dispute between LG and Verizon over data package requirements, which were in place for a while on the VX8360 and not on the VX8370 (Clout). They may not be making any more or promoting them, but apparently they are great phones. Best Buy still has them in stock (free with a 2-year contract)....

I just received a LG Clout yesterday and have made two calls on it. I cannot understand the person talking. The sound is completely distorted. What a disappointment. I every other way the phone seems to be great!

Had mine for a couple of days and have never had better call or voice clarity on any phone...your Clout might be defective.

VZW discontinued some multimedia phones and set the rest into feature phones on the website

The Clout was never a multimedia phone. It has always been a feature phone. And yes, it was only available to authorized retailers. It was a limited time deal. The only difference between a lot of the feature phones that have come out and the multimedia phones that have been phased out is the data package requirement. You can absolutely still opt to get a data package, but like I said it isn't required anymore.
