Incredible or shadow or other

paps511 01 Jun 2010, 08:57 posted on

i currently have an EnV Touch, and it sucks. i want to upgrade to an android or other smartphone. Should i get an Incredible now or wait till they release the Shadow/Xtreme or other android. Are any of them going to be significantly better then the incredible? also what are the projected costs? $200 with contract $600 without or thereabout?

Just curious. What do you hate about the EnV Touch? I'm thinking about getting one, since it looks like it will be quite some time before I can afford the Incredible (or whatever comes after it). I've heard the camera is pretty good. What do you think? Thanks!

its a good non-smart phone, but i have just had really bad luck with the touch screens. they will be very un accurate to the point where i couldnt even calibrate it, but verizon has been really good about replacing it. another problem ive had is that when i unlock it the front will just fade to pure white. if i open and close it, the phone is fine, but it is still annoying. overall its either a good phone and ive had lemons, or it just breaks often.

The phone sucks. Don't buy it. I have it now and wish I had gotten something else. Yes, the camera is nice, but that is the only thing nice about it. I've had mine replaced by verizon twice and I haven't even had the phone for 1 year yet! The screens go blank and when I try and access the internet the phone restarts. It is very glitchy. A tech told me that I would have to wait for LG to make an update available to correct the problem. You should do a search on how people like the phone. The reviews by consumers are not good.

Yeah it breaks down a lot, but if its under warranty VZW will replace it for free. I got mine in May of 09 and im on #6 and i need to replace it. Hence this entire thread...

I Heard The Shadow Will Have An Mini HDMI Output, 4.1 Or 4.3 Inch Screen An Will Be Able To Record Videos In 720p HD So That Sounds A Little Better Then The Incredible, I Also Heard That The Shadow And The Droid 2 Are Supposed 2 Be Coming Out Some Time This Month Or Next Month. If You Can Wait Another Month Or Two Then You Should And See What's Going On With The New Android Phones, I Know I Can't Wait Till My Contract Ends So I Can Kick This Dare For An Android Phone But I'll Wait Til The Droid 2 Comes Out. I Don't Know What The Prices Will Look Like But Hopefully They'll Be $200 With A 2 Year Contract Like The Droid And Incredible.

Ok, I'm a little confused because I've been researching and seen so many different stories. So you're saying there is two new phones coming out right? The Droid 2 and The Shadow/Xtreme? I heard the Droid 2 is the one that will have a QWERTY keyboard but more enhanced than the previous Droid's keyboard. Is that correct?

this is my understanding as well. from leaked photos and information, droid 2 will have keyboard, extreme/shadow will not. they are also both "expected" to be released at the end of the month.

I'm with you. I was just going to but an INC today at BB, but I'm concerned by so many complaining of the radio. My cell usage is 95% business and my curve never fails me. So while I'd love to buy the INC, I'm waiting for the Xtreme. I'd use the INC for 30, but if they delay the Xtreme, I would hate to go back to the curve after using the INC.

Well, I bought the INC from BB & had to return it 10 days later. I loved the phone, but the display went haywire on me after 24 hrs. HTC support said to return it. Then they called me yesterday for a interview because of the comments I left with their site. Tech did say the signal bars issue was about to be hotfixed via OTA any day, but my reception was great here in Tampa. I just couldn't make or receive calls and I had a rare charging issue. I got a bad one. So, I'm back on the curve, sigh..... If mine worked I would have kept it. Sense IU rocks. Blazing fast. Navigation is awesome. On a fun note - the rep at BB said "just get a droid, I have one?" & I said I'm not going backwards. You'd think I slapped his mom or something...

@ Paps551 - to answer your original thread post, it kinda really depends on what kind of user your are. I still think the INC is awesome. I fought with its problems I liked it so much. If you're wanting more of a phone in a smaller Form factor, the INC is great. If your more of a media person, I would want to say the X, but there not out to play with. Wait for both and decide. There is no wrong phone.
