I like it, I wouldn't buy it but I do like it, maybe the next iteration, that battery life is a no go.

Yeah solid phone but needs a bigger battery, similar story with the LG G7(and 2 more GB ram).

I waited for this to phone to replace my Mix2 but the battery size killed it for me so I went with the NexS and I love it. Congratulations to Phonearena for finally giving a fair score and balanced review to a Chinese/non-Apple device. One glaring mistake is the global version also works on Google Fi, Verizon and probably Sprint but no one has tested it on Sprint.

The slider implementation for the front camera is my favorite, simple, reliable, and certainly not ugly. I was thinking about getting this and giving my mom the OPT6 I have because she needs a new phone, I love the OPT6 but I still don't like notches even if they are tolerable, the battery size of obviously killed this phone for me.

The NexS is the OPT6 with a bigger screen, bigger battery, headphone jack and no notch.

That's a vivo phone huh, how's the software, another reason I have OPT6 is speed.

Vivo, Oppo and OnePlus are basically the same company with different branding but shared components and design. The NexS is crazy fast but the software isn't as barebones as the Oneplus. I mentioned it because of your comment about the notch.

I know they are all owned by the same company, I was hoping you'd say it was pretty fast, the mechanized camera has me worried though.

Well the NexS is right up there on Antutu with the OP6T and it's fast in the real world too. I'm really enjoying mine. The battery life is incredible too. I was worried about the mechanized camera initially but after watching Jerryrigeverything's teardown and test of the mechanism I was convinced. Mind you I rarely use the front camera so I don't really care. I generally keep my phones for about a year anyway but plan on keeping this one longer and I'm certain the camera won't be an issue.

Well then, I'm intrigued! thank you for all the info and what appears to be a great recommendation, gsm seems to think so as well.

Just make sure you get the international version if you decide to buy. The Chinese version is a nightmare outside of China. A bonus is that they're going for less than $550 now.

Few more cons No waterproofing No headphone jack No expandable storage

According to this, around 10% of people voted use more than 128GB, does that make expandable storage a legit con for most people or just some....https://www.phonearena.com/news/Smartphone-storage-enough-usage_id112264

Google Photos has changed the game for me. Since I started using it I barely use 30GB on my devices. So I don't count expandable storage as a con at all.

Camera is on par with other flagships, at least hardware wise, a Gcam port has proven that this phone can deliver pictures that goes toe to toe with the Pixel 3.

Issue is when you make a review the final score should be based on out of the box experience and not what mod can you do after and how well that might work.

I'm not arguing that, they definitely are doing the right thing by not reviewing the phone with a ported cam. I was just pointing out this fact to help those who are interested in the phone but are worried about the camera's performance.

A proper well scored review of an Android handset by PA? Did hell just froze over?

Any phone that does not have at least 3700MaH does not interset me anymore.

Not a fan of sliders cuz of the wobble issues over time but this is a great score.

Trust me on this one, the slider feels solid as a rock. I doubt you will have any issues with that, but best try it for yourself if you have the opportunity.

I own this phone from December and I need to say, that it was my best decision last year. Top design, performance and build quality. I have wireless charger everywhere (car, bed side, etc.) so no power shortage anywhere. Usually I finish my day with more that 50% of battery. Much better pictures compared with my last phone. Water ressistance and slipery of the ceramic back can be an issue for persons who donĀ“t care aboutvalue of the new device (aka teenagers). I buy device from Cina and install xiaomi.eu ROM without any issues. Weekly updates bring always something new.

No jack and no IR-blaster. Can someone please make a phone that is complete? With IR-blaster, audiojack, micro-SD-slot, NFC and call-recording out of the box? Ditch that bloody selfie-camera especially those with ridiculous high megapixel-count and give us a decent battery instead.

Mate 20, although its not standard micro sd its still expandable. Its the reason I got it. The most complete flagship phone out there that is fairly priced.

Another con is the inbuilt advertising in the Asia version, but most people here would be getting the international model. Good review.
