Screen comparison: iPhone 6 vs Galaxy S5 vs G3 vs One (M8) vs iPhone 5s

Whenever a new major flagship smartphone comes out, we tend to stage an in-depth screen comparison in order to determine if the manufacturer has managed to leapfrog the stiff competition in this all so important aspect. Of course, the just-released Apple iPhone 6 is major enough to justify a new screen comparison, especially since Apple prides itself in producing some of the very best displays in the industry...

It's unbelievable how you can't spell correctly, that you have to comment like such a fan boy and that you believe the article.

I think that the score for the 6 is a bit too high when it comes to the resolution. 750p isn't particular high anymore, even if you, PA think that it'll do. And next time, instead of post processing the images, just take a picture of all the phones with the same image, so there is no chance of bias or exaggeration (which is clearly evident in the images)

No lumia units, no z3 what kind of test is this? I cannot speak for the s5 because i don't own one, but i do own a s3 & s4 and my pics never looked like that. Galaxy s has different display modes, what gives??

Just to clarify folks. We use out of date display test software with a 1931 CIE test graph which is proven to be inaccurate. We should've used software that uses the 1976 CIE graph. This skews colour temperature, colour gamut and gamma results. We also insist on referring to delta E figures which are totally inappropriate for display testing. They are for calibration only, but they suit our preference for green fruit. Using the accurate most-up-to-date graph puts the S5 at the top of this bunch of phones, but that would be against our anti-Shamesung policy.

No viewing angle comparison? contrast? different display modes? I see. Good job with your non biased comparison.
