Samsung Galaxy S8+ Review

The next Galaxy S family comes in two sizes: the standard-sized Galaxy S8, and the super-sized Galaxy S8+. The difference in screen and battery size is the only thing that separates the two. And if you've been eyeing the big one, it's your lucky day: welcome to our Samsung Galaxy S8+ review!

I don't think it should matter which phone PA rates higher. It should matter what the buyer of the phone prefers. Who cares if 1 was a 9.3 and 1 was a 9.0. And yes the 7+ battery was about 20% longer lasting but also takes double the charging time than the s8+.

and the worst of all, that battery test is a lie, lol.. S8+ beat iPhone7+ with ~40% battery left and this article is just a copy paste from S8 review, what a shame Ray.S :-/

According to displaymate, S8 has 4 Color Gamuts and 3 Calibrated Screen Modes with High Absolute Color Accuracy based on our extensive Lab Measurements. A larger Native Color Gamut with a new high saturation “Deep Red” OLED, resulting in a very impressive 113% of DCI-P3 and 142% of sRGB / Rec.709 Gamuts that also provides much better on-screen Colors in High Ambient Light. PA strikes again

GSMArena loved the phone it got an 88 hour endurance rating which is higher than the Iphone 7 and it matches the iphone 6s plus which has a 1080p display and is alot smaller than the S8 plus display by 0.7 or 0.8 inches. Well done Sammy you hit the ball out the park :D

Performance is Samsung's eternal problem. As long as they keep TouchWiz and add bloat all the time, the performance will suffer considerably.

touchwiz is long gone. New UI is elegant. Can't help if you think otherwise

When I saw Ray's name I didn't want to read his BS review but automatically knew it'd score less than Apple's good. I love Apple but him and everyone at PA must be crazy if they actually believe that iPhone 7 plus us better than this beauty

Apple fans Bible, the verge said "It's the best phone ever" Ray's still trying too hard to hate it LOL

Why is its Delta-E scores so much worse than its predecessor?

Probably because Delta e scores mean very little and iPhonearena had to find some kind of metric to declare the iPhone display as superior and Delta e was the best they could come up with. Then on Samsung's part they realized that isheep reviewers would find a way to criticize their displays no matter what so this year they just said screw it. We will just go by our eyeballs.

as expected.. you can't find proper cons but give it lower score than you beloved iPhone, lol.. this phone is obviously better than iPhone in every aspect.. I know you really wish apple to release a phone like this one, lol..

"this phone is obviously better than iPhone in every aspect except performance" FTFY

Unfortunately, you're on the record as calling for performance to be measured by app racing. That being your standard, and the S8 only being slower on gaming apps, you may be using the term "performance" an arbitrary manner. You might as well had just said "the experience". Or has that arbitrary buzz word died for now?

Dude, the S8 LITERALLY locked up during Mr.Mobile's review. It took the S8 several more MINUTES to render a 4k video on another reviewers channel. Several....minutes!!! I get it... you enjoy Samsung items. I respect that, and I KNOW the S8 does certain things much better than the iPhone. However, performance is NOT one of those things.

S8+ owner, thought I would share some case/protector experiences. I would prefer a case with both kickstand and card holder (so I can carry some business cards) but carry in front pocket so want smaller size. Cases with stand and card holder are rare. Case-Mate Tough Stand. Very nice buttons and kickstand but dangerous with wireless charging as metal kickstand got too hot to touch. Contacted customer service and they actually said the case was wireless charging compatible, I just had to remove the case :-) Returned Spigen Slim Armor. I have had good luck with this brand before but was not with this one. Power button was almost unusable and the kick stand had nothing holding it open so it just flopped around and would not hold phone unless and non-slip surface and at just the right angle..but it push screen too hard it would fall over. Worked with wireless charging. Returned Youmaker. Just received today and seem good but only with fair button action. Kickstand is stable and works with wireless charging. Curved glass screen protector. Box didn't have a brand on it, order via Amazon and fulfilled by TechWarehouse but seems to be multiple with same box. Didn't like visible glue strips on each end, seemed defective but that was the design....didn't matter, wouldn't work with case, returned. Have Spiegen Neoflex film screen protector on order. Have BEIMU case on order but expect a month to receive. This is the only case I have found that has both a card slot and kickstand. Worry that it is only $3.49 plus $4.48 shipping, don't have high expectations. Also have Zizo Static Series on order.

I'm finding this phone challenging to say the least. Charging is a nightmare. The phone won't charge on any of the wireless pads I have. It only like the one charger that it came with so I need to buy a bunch more. The red tinted screen is terrible. I have been told Samsung already released a fix for it which is on my phone which didn't seem to work plus they told me there is another fix coming. Then we have the face/iris/fingerprint security feature. Face recognition doesn't work 95% of the time. Iris recognition is worse, doesn't work 99% of the time. The fingerprint sensor on the back is so awkward to use its practically worthless. Anything good about the phone is overshadowed by these negatives.
