Samsung Galaxy S6 edge Review

Rather than sporting one curved edge like the Note Edge last fall, the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge favors a uniform approach by sporting a dual curved display – where the left and right sides are subtly curved...

So why is everyone talking about the bezels on the M9 but this phone is identical in height without front facing speakers and nobody mentions the bezels

Because its just a perfectly beautiful phone, there's nothing to complain.

It is little smaller, but has bigger screen, almost 3 mm thinner, 30 g lighter. So yes, HTC could have done something about those bezels.

the M9 has 5" screen while S6 has 5.1"

The main reason is because the S6/Edge gets the home button with integrated fingerprint scanner.

Well, because it uses the size properly. It has a bigger screen and a lot more hardware packed in with a much slimmer profile. If HTC didn't disclose that the M8 was going to use capacitive buttons but changed last minute, then the we need the bezel for hardware excuse might hold some weight. But after making it thicker and removing the duo camera and seeing what Sony and LG could do with 5.2 and 5.5 inch screens, HTC really has no excuse. Sure they can admit that they are not on par with Sony, Samsung, and LG or they can say they need the space for better boom sound. If you are the Head of PR and marketing you would choose the latter for sure. Us more experienced people that can see through PR bs know for a fact that the Bezel can be removed. With the GS6, I really doubt they could have made it smaller. That's the difference.

Benchmarks of the s6 should've been redone - they're clearly wrong. Both s6 and edge have identical specs apart from the battery. This is just wrong. 900ish score for aingle core is just wrong. You clewrly pushed the phone hard and then ran the benchmark. It either throttled or there was an issue with the benchmark or your s6 is defective.

That is the worst PROs/CONs list ever.

Nice and fair review. I think I might go for the edge instead of the regular S6.

There was something wrong with your S6 performance, as it reaches similar results as the S6 Edge on other sites.

Its About time Samsung removed the removable battery (i man, c'mon, your battery will last a whole day and overnight before you go to bed just charge it over night, its not hard, no need to carry another battery around xD) And the SD cards slows your phone and drains your battery faster. So its about time, Samsung Users welcome to an Apple World, Samsung is moving more towards Apple stayle and trust me, when it launches Tizan you will realise how bad android is.

So far I have heard, mobilesyrup and Erica Griffin prefer the plain old GS6 while John V prefers the S6 edge. I wonder what the final tally will be once the NDA is lifted for everyone.

John V. - I suspect the reason for worse battery life on the GS6 Edge compared to the GS6 is because the Project Butter feature Touch Boost is constantly being activated. This would be somewhat unavoidable being that there's virtually no bezel on the sides.

Major problem will be battery. I am using galaxy a5 that dries battery within 1 day with normal use. Compared to galaxy a5 a5 2300mah battery s6 battery is only 2600 mah. S6 is a monster. And galaxy a5 resolution is only hd but s6 resolution is ultra hd. Another minus point is non removable battery. My advise is wait at least 3 to 5 months for performance.

Hello All, I am one of the first lucky person who got Galaxy S6 edge i received mine on March 29 just wanted to share my 2 weeks experience with all galaxy s6 fans. Galaxy S6 is a awesome phone design luxury feel superb screen resolution brilliant camera and so so more to discover yet. one flaw of the phone which i noticed is phone is lil lagy as Samsung mention this phone is very secure but sorry to say Samsung is not right on this claim, someone can easily unlock the device even an 12 years kid can unlock the phone even if the phone is locked with your fingerprint some one can easily get into phone and can easily access to some one personal stuff very personal stuff . let me explain how lock your device with your fingerprint once phone is locked you can notice while you try to press home button you will see a swap unlock option which is very weird i don't know and if you swap the dial pad your phone is unlocked i am adding a video just watch the video and you can see how easily someone can unlock the device. phone arena is not letting me add the link but you can search it in you tube video's by typing this Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge how easy to unlock your lock device

Can anyone give any advice as how to get more battery life from this thing? It's not for me but my friend's wife just bought this as an "upgrade" from her old S3 after much (joking) piss-taking from me about how she should get an iPhone instead... Turns out she's regretting it as the battery is dropping down to 40% or so by halfway through the day, around the same time myself and her husband were sat on 87% (year old iPhone 6) and 90% (Sony Xperia). She say's she's not doing anything different than on her old phone and I looked up any fixes and they were already applied. Is there something fundamentally bad about the battery in the S6 Edge that the reviewers aren't mentioning??
