Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Review

Wait, what? Why Note 7 and not Note 6? Easy: This year, Samsung is willing to align its S and Note lines better, so it's missing the “Note 6” and jumping straight to calling it Note 7. But, if this is going to give you peace of mind, if we count the Note Edge, then the Note 7 is actually the seventh Note in the series, so the name is indeed fitting.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooo, the Note 7, which is a BETTER S7 Edge, gets a lower score?! I'm done with you, phone arena. Your name doesn't even deserve to be capitalized. I'll stick with Droid Life & venture on over to Android Authority. Your site is total bullisht! Watch the iPhone 7 get a 9.3 because it has a dual camera or some biased excuse. Same reason why I haven't been on BGR in 3 years. Way to follow in their footsteps. Then again, that's what sheep do.

PA should give the criteria scores of how they got such a score like AA.

Lol, iPhonearena gave the Note 7 review to this nut job hypocrite, who goes through immense burthurt moments and temper tantrums merely due to Samsung poking fun at his divine apple ( ) but proudly accepts it vice versa, even going as far a lying that "apple wouldn't do such a thing"? More reasons never to take any review on this site serious, not even gonna bother reading past the asinine author's name. From the looks of the above comments, I'm clearly not missing anything by not reading the review.

Verge gives it a 9.3. And as user of this phone since 4th of August i can assure you this phone should not be rated below that.

This whole review is based on your options and not on the facts. A truly undeserved score for the Note 7, it should at least be a 9/10. In almost all the sections there was always something that was wrong with the device. What's good enough for you? An Apple logo?

Note 4 rating: 9.3, Note 7: 8.7!! Are they holding back for Apple? Apple phones are about one generation behind in terms of hardware, screen in particular. This review sucks.

You see, for some people (not me) note4 is the best note ever. For them, Note5 was a downgrade and the Note7 is a s7 edge plus. And they compare Note7 to the s7 edge, not the Note5. That's why the score is pretty low for the Note7. I think Note7 deserves at least a 9 score.

So, this N7 review unit loses ~10% battery over night? How do you guys leave it for 6-8 hours? With all connectivity and sync functions turned on? My N4 (no carrier bloat) with everything turned off loses 1-2% till morning, and it has the archaic SD805, not the relatively new SD820

Guys, its Ray. You don't read a Ray review of a Samsung phone and expect anything more than what you got here. He's the guy that insisted the S5 screen was poorly color calibrated, when every other site was testing it as the top.

It is clearly obvious that this review is based on personal preference, not facts.

An 8.7? This only continues to bring into question the other scores of this reviewer. Phone Arena can no longer ignore what this guy is obviously doing.

Beauty alone should give it a 10.7.

Galaxy Note 7 reviews have hit the internet this week and the consensus among them is that it might be the best designed smartphone ever. Today I got my hands on this precious new device, and my skepticism has quickly morphed into geeky reverence for the sheer brilliance, unfailing symmetry, and outrageous efficiency of the Note 7's design. ..... You have no idea how much doubt and shade I threw at Dan while we were discussing his review scores. I couldn’t believe that this phone could be that polished and that beautiful. But honestly, I have a Galaxy Note 4 and the Note 7 is almost completely unrelatable to it. How you can fit a 5.7-inch screen into a device of this size is beyond me. It’s staggering. Putting the Note 7 next to an HTC 10 makes the 10 seem so unrefined and chunky. The 10 has edges where the Note 7 has curves. Small things adding up to a big effect. And keep in mind that I actually like the Note 4 and HTC 10 designs, there’s precious little bad about them. Samsung just did an incredible job with the 7. Vlad Savov The Verge

What about that default app selection issue on the S7 UI? Is that an issue on the Note 7? Is the toggle feature in the default app settings mentioned in an article posted a few weeks ago available on this phone?

The iris scanner is not that tricky. Just got mine today and it took 3 tries to get my iris. Now I can unlock the phone by just looking at it. It's really sweet to be able to do that. Fingerprint scanner set up to. It really is a nice phone and put a spigen tough armor case on it.

I watched a youtube video on a note 8. It bends around the curved screen. weird and annoying. Not sure why you would want this. It looks neat and the screen is great otherwise but I don't want to watch warped videos.

I very much appreciate and thank PHONEARENA for providing the audio output level tests (headphone, mV) for the phones they review because you are one of the few if not the only site that does it. It is very important for me because 1) I often like to listed to music loudly, 2) loud phones (higher mV) can drive more high-end headphones, especially with higher impedance, 3) some music or videos are recorded with low audio levels so you have to level up the loudness just to listen to them at normal levels. So thank you for doing it and keep it up!
