Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Review

Wait, what? Why Note 7 and not Note 6? Easy: This year, Samsung is willing to align its S and Note lines better, so it's missing the “Note 6” and jumping straight to calling it Note 7. But, if this is going to give you peace of mind, if we count the Note Edge, then the Note 7 is actually the seventh Note in the series, so the name is indeed fitting.

Oh yes - predictable. See, PA has a simple rule: no matter how good anything is, they won't rate it higher than an Apple product. Simple. The phone is mind-boggling, its a substantial upgrade even over S7 Edge. I hope and pray the readers and consumers know better, and all indications are that they do.

The Note 7 is not an upgrade of the S7 Edge. It is an upgrade of the Note series. The S and Note are 2 different phones, sold to 2 different class of people overall. Sure there are S users who also buy the Note, I am one of those who started with the S and moved to the Note. But the Note is not an S upgrade. Anyone who bought an S this year, would not be looking to upgrade to the Note. Unless they have always wanted a Note and now that the Note shares some of the best things about the S, they will change.

HA to the Score. I've played with this device and it is near perfect (subjective, I Know). To come away with a score this low reeks of nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking or Apple love.

..this is such a poor review (not just in terms of focus / writing) than the GSMArena one... this review really highlights just how far Phone Arena have fallen... :/

Thanks PA! This score confirmed why I cancelled my pre-order. It also does not help that I have a S7.

8.7 meaning a great device was y u cancelled your pre-order.SHOCKING!!!!

The reviewer of this device also wrote an article on why the S7 isn't worth the money. If you're gonna make buying decisions based on what Ray S writes, then go ahead and trade in that S7 and start planning your iphone 6se pre-order.

Justifying your decision on the opinion of someone else. Why do you use android again?

Given who the author is, I'm surprised they didn't give it an even lower score.

Ray S reviewing a Samsung device is like Steve Jobs serving as presiding judge over the Apple v. Samsung case(s).

After that rant Ray S posted the other day about Samsung's smack talk aimed at Apple during the Note7 event...I am convinced he's the walking embodiment of the term 'iSheep'.

The black looks like its plastic. But I like how the metal is black though. Looks really cool. But I got tired of black phones. My Note 5 is black, need something different. The unboxing is making it too anxious. I NEED MY PREORDER NOW!

Man I feel like Tyrone Biggums running thru the door for the 5 o'clock free crack give away. I told my mother-in-law to text me AS SOON as it gets to her place (had it sent there since she works from home & it needs to be signed for). Using sick time to leave work & get my phone.

This Phone is amazing, I really can't wait to get my hands on it. I don't care about the score, I never trust this site's review anyway

So which model did PA test? SD or Exynos?

The video shows they unboxed a T-Mobile unit. So it would have to be the SnapDragon model.

And all of you care for the score cause of? The score or any other score on any other site should not be taken into the consideration. You should care for the review not the score. If the person who reviewed it thinks its a great phone then that's what matters, not if its 0.2 worse than some other phone. Its like not watching a movie cause its 0.3 worse on the IMDB when compared to another movie. Scoring phones is more subjective, whats important are the main features to be great. Like camera quality and especially in low light, screen quality, call quality, software stability, battery etc. Grow up keyboard warriors, they can score what they like, and that's fine, the text and opinion is more important than any score.

I've seen the phone in person several times & preordered mine over a week ago. I just can't stand their biasedness & the fact that the Note 7 is a BETTER S7 Edge yet received a lower score. Phone Arena is full of imbeciles. Spoken from someone with over 15 of wireless experience.

Before they even got the phone they knew the score. So they can give the upcoming Iphones a higher score to help increase the share price of apple that all phonearena authors have

So they gave the OnePlus 3 and Note 7 the same score. That's interesting.

Let me just talk about the cons.. Iris scanner: it's there for ADDED security, not replacing anything or trying to compete with especially the Fingerprint scanner. Speaking of which, how is it a could be better feature? Edge screen is not forcing u to use it. And camera post processing, are u even serious right now?

That's alright go over to CNET and they give it a 9.0 and they love the battery life.

Disadvantage : it's not an iPhone.

Joke of the day : Can you use it from any distance? Iris scanner: No | Fingerprint scanner: Yes How ? !! How can you use fingerprint scanner from any distance ?!!!! And how did you even think that the distance between a fp scaner and iris scanner would be so great to actually make it a con ?? As many others in the comment section have pointed out , a totally biased review.

You can't use the fingerprint reader at any distance. The maximum distance is your maximum reach which varies per person. It's not an advantage or disadvantage. PA is just full of crap.

So a Samsung hater has been given the best phone for review, this review loses credibility for me right after seeing the author name.

I can see the iPhone 7 plus getting 9.5 here.
