The Curve did great in our tests. Signal strength was great everywhere we went. Sound quality was strong and clear. Both parties could hear well and clearly.

With the 312MHz processor, navigating through the menu was quick. There were a few times where there was a slight pause when a command was made but it was no longer than 1 second.

Battery life is just amazing. While texting, making calls, browsing, and checking emails, the battery managed to last us 4 days and still has ¼ of the battery left. Talk time is rated at 4 hours but we managed to get 5 hours and 40 minutes out of one charge. We know BlackBerries have good battery lives and the Curve certainly does not disappoint.

We were very pleased with the Curve as RIM managed to put together a great package together into one phone. While the camera isn’t perfect, RIM did its research to make sure it would not come out useless and the great flash is better than most phones out there.

The email client is great, as expected, and the battery life is great. The QWERTY keyboard, while small, is very comfortable to use, much better than that of the one on the 8830. The media player does a decent job of what it’s meant for. It supports plenty of formats so there shouldn’t be much of a problem playing finding media to play.

Overall, the Curve is a great messaging phone with decent camera and media capabilities. If BlackBerries one of your preferred phones but you missed the camera and media options, then the definitely give the Curve a try. You will not be disappointed.

  • Comfortable, full QWERTY keyboard
  • 2MP camera with a great flash
  • 3.5mm audio jack
  • Great screen
  • Battery life

  • Emails were doubled
  • Cheap looking UI from AT&T
  • Sound quality through the speaker when listening to music
  • No video recording
  • Location of the microSD slot

This is not only the best BlackBerry ever, it's also the best smart phone. I've had Treo's, a Moto-Q, AT&T 8525, & a BlackJack. This BlackBerry makes those others look like very old tech. I've had my 8300 Curve for over 5 months and have been very impressed with it's speed, stability, and the high quality of the phone. I have never had a dropped call, and it's not unusual for people to ask me if I'm calling from my office becuase the phone is so clear. It also has great volume, & a wide range of adjustment. The voice quality is warm and very clear when listening to your caller. I'm amazed at how fast the push mail is, and if one uses the unique to BlackBerry Pin messaging, you do not have to pay for any text messages. Even though I have 3G phones, the way that RIM has optimised this phone for EDGE is simply amazing. The build quality is stellar and this is one phone that has a battery door that is not only a great fit, but easy on and off. If you are a phone enthusiast as I am it's good to know that swapping sims is very easy with this phone. Of all the mobile phones, and smart phones I've owned this one is the very best by a wide margin. I highly endorse this model.

This phone is awesome! Seriously it is the most solid well put together phone I have ever owned so far. I had a sliver and I needed something thin WITH a camera flash WITH GPS Navigation WITH internet and it does all those things super well. Also it looks cool and it's easy to use. I bad mouthed them on their message boards about the GPS nav not coming through the bluetooth, but I'm sure they'll fix it. Aside from that this phone is awesome. On a side not you guys got something WRONG, you can delete multiple emails by holding down caps lock and scrolling through then using menu --> delete. I figured that out even without using the manual. Then again I'm a computer programmer. I am a little disappointed I can't watch youtube videos. I was thinking about this or an iPhone, but I would never buy an iPhone cause I need a tactile keyboard. Anyway I give this phone a 9. Oh and this is my first blackberry so I am a new customer. I was won over by the size. I'm so pleased with being able to be on MySpace, email, and texts at the same time that I was using it at the bar during the Lakers game. -Nick Juntilla

this fone is the best everrr ! yes, i may be a blackberry first time user, but i HIGHLY recommend this fone to anyone. the fones rly easy to use, making txting faster [ which i &hearts! ] and the camera is rlyy clear for a fone that holds so many functions. compared to all the other kinds of qwerty fones, i find this fone aweshumm. i was deciding on getting either the blackberry curve 8310 or the sidekick 3, && i am so glad i chose the blackberry. even tho the sidekick whuld be better for me, since i only use a QWERTY keyboard for txting; i dont rly like the appearance of the sidekick, && the bulkiness. i am so glad i got this fone. ive had it for a month, and yet, i look at it like i just got it yesterday
