Everyone complaining about the final score, please just ignore it. We all knew this was coming and nobody should act surprised. See V10 review for further MO of PA. One thing I do think we should complain about is having design be labeled as a con. How can PA consider a V20's design as a con when they said nothing about eye cancer that is Pixel XL. That phone is genuinely and objectively ugly and you still gave it a 9. I won't compare V20 against iP7 or S7(e) but it is in every way better compared to Pixels and gets a full point lower score.

Clearly perspective, interests, and personal tastes are everything. This sounds like a fantastic Android device to me. But, I won't truly know until I get my hands on it. I had my heart set on the Note 7, but obviously that's not happening. So, I will very likely be upgrading to the LG V20 when it comes out. I owned the LG G3 and loved it. If I don't like it I'll stick with my S6 Edge+ for now. IMO this was a decent review that didn't scare me away from this device at all. Although, I agree with other readers - I think the score was a little low. This review makes it sound like a better than "Good" phone. The only concern I have with it (from this review) is the color reproduction and temperature. I'll be eager to check it out next week.

LOve this phone but it does has some issue with built quilaty (camera glass) plus the white on LG IPS screen looks kinda bullish white :/. https://youtu.be/nBlUL-7Dl4U

Let's be honest here the only compromise is battery life and waterproofing if you absolutely need it. You admitted that the phone drew attention yet list "not the prettiest phone out there" as a con. How interesting. For the target audience there is not one single phone-not one- besides the V10 that can give users this level of control over content creation and a superior audio listening experience. This phone is a 9 at worst.https://youtu.be/Fa495cN9I0Q Shot on V10. I'm willing to bet on low light video LG will wipe the Pixel and any other phone away. But I'm biased to LG as well. But just because it's LG doesn't mean it's lesser.

1 question about the video you posted. It looks really good apart from the black sky. There is a metric s**t-ton of blocking and banding across the dark sky. Is it present on the original video or is it because of YT s**ty bit-rate and compression?

It's not present on my phone or the original video. It's probably due to YouTube compression or your screen. I say that because the blacks and dark areas appear very blotchy looking on my Surface Pro 2 but perfectly fine on everything else.

Had to log in to tell you how impressed I am with your video. A big upgrade in video quality compared to my phone in that situation. The V10 was a very interesting device to me.

Hi rsiders, Wonderful video of your beautiful family. Where did you get the music? I just ordered 3 v20s today on T-mobile. Loved our v10s but switching carriers and time for new phones. I would not give up changeable battery for anything. I work with someone who was an apple development person. He confirmed that the sealed battery is a marketing tool to drive sales of phones as batteries all lose capacity over time. Quick charging accelerates battery aging.

Hello there's a link to the music in the video description but it's a magical group called Lights and Motion and the song is As the World Goes Away. I'm getting the V20 soon myself. Got some hands on time with it yesterday in the store. Highly underrated just like the V10 before it.

The battery life is at least 20% better than the note 7 i had to return and it can be replaced! In my opinion of the 3 days I've used this phone I would give it a 9.0.

Android CPU manufacturers are a generation and half behind the A10. The lead will increase with the A10X Fusion with the A11 being at least 40% better than the A10.

Why doesn't LG give their high-end devices names that can be remembered by more than a little part of the tech-obsessed? Their throwaway devices have any number of good names yet they saddle this seemingly great phone with the moniker of "V20". If they want to keep the "V20" why not take the Volt name from their low-end and add 20 to the end.

I just get a chuckle out of all these people on websites touting specs, benchmarks etc, but their battery life is terrible. The last two phones I've owned both had 4000+ mAH batteries that would go 2-3 days on a charge, looked great, bright screens, smooth, fast and didn't cost an arm and a leg either. Updates, personally, I'm not a bleeding edge type. If it works out of the box with no issues, I don't care if it is 0.01 versions off or not.

Haven't used an LG phone since the g flex... Because of the note 7 situation I'm back to LG for a few months... Hopefully the experience isn't too bad...

No UK or EU release. LG doesn't want our money.

Well I dig the second screen, the build is rather nice, and I'm a picture taking fanatic and the wide angle lens is very cool. And I love the giant screen as I find mm Galaxy S7 a but small for my taste. The V20s finger print sensor in unbelievably fast too. Puts my old Ip6 a d my current S7 finger prep t sensor to shame. I Iike it being on the back too.

Oh and the sound goes without saying. I am amazed by it, I plugged in the headphones I use on my bass amp to practice to her phone and listened to some Queens of the Stone Age

Thanks for the review. Mine just got in today. I'll have some time to check it out this weekend and compare it with my note 7 that I haven't returned yet lol

Plenty of sites and YouTubers are saying this isn't he #1 phone to get if you're a former Note 7 user. This and the Pixel XL. So there are more than a few who would disagree with this crap rating PA.

It's curious how PA apreciates perfectly calibrated colors on the screen, something that you would mostly only notice using two devices side by side. But multiwindow, manual video controls, HiFi audio (playing and recording) are almost cons for a phone. On another note, you can't state as con "Not the prettiest phone out there", as beauty is a very subjective point, maybe for me is a pro, because I'm not looking for a pretty phone but a sturdy one or one with an agressive design, or someone may be just like "meh, they all look the same: screen, power button, volume buttons, just need one that feels right in the hand". All the others characteristics listed as pro or con can be measured in some way or are standout features instrinsic to the phone, unless you develop a PABeautyStandarizedMetric it can't be listed either as a pro nor a con.

The moment I saw an 8 grade for this device this site lost all review credibility. Lol..i'm confused and a little suspicious. So considering this is one of two phones to come out with Nouget, packed with crazy features it got an 8?? Ok so here are the things that made me suspicious. - Iphone has no headphone jack, limited customization, no sd card, only 1080p screen and it was rated 9?? - Pixel has no sd card slot, terrible design (looks like an IPhone knock off), minimal features, sub par battery life and got a 9??? - The V20 has the best audio performance (speaker, music play and mic) and got an 8? - V20 is the only phone with a removable battery and got an 8?? - V20 has the best feature packed camera along with dual lenses with wide angle and take excellent pictures and got an 8?? - Also is it funny that every other review board/YouTube video on the V20 has it highly regarded?? Hmmm read someone say the bigger companies get higher ratings..Kind of make sense. Oh well, i'm off too GSMarena

Fingerprint scanner has ZERO issues here. It works perfect almost every time. It is far more accurate than my iPhone 6s Plus was. Leaps and bounds better. The sound quality is the best out there and manual settings for video and HiFi recording are NOT overkill. Get your head out of your butt. While I agree on the battery being mediocre (it should have shipped with the larger battery initially reported months back) it is by far the BEST phone I have ever owned. It should be a solid 9.5

This is an underrated smartphone because it is not Apple nor Samsung. I personally dont like the looks. It looks lovely ke the Moto Droid X. but this didnt deserves the hate.... people here were so ignorant. Stop saying thing when you havent play with it at least 1 week. Move on past doesnt tell the present. Have a logic brain stupid western people
