LG V10 Review

While initially it might appear to be just another experimental device from LG, the new V10 jumbo smartphone might very well take the place of the uninspiring G Pro line for good. Here's the deal: the LG V10 may have just a marginally larger screen than that of the LG G4, but it comes with a unique trick of its own: a secondary display that's always on to show you the time and date, notifications, or next calendar event. Could this be the special ingredient to make phablets work for LG?

Did I miss it, or did they not review the dual selfie cam at all?

even more surprising is the fact that a phone as bad as an utter disaster called HTC One A-9 even got away with a higher 7.8 score. Doesn't make any sense.

This is what happens when you hurry up releasing a product without testing LG. Its unfortunate that great specs go waste. Hope all the problems can be resolved with software update.

24hrs later and I am still loving my V10. It's snappy and fast as he'll for having such a low score on the bench mark test.

I I type this comment, I have a V10 sitting right next to me, having used it for 2 days now. I can tell you with hands on certainty that this review does NOT do the phone justice. I can't speak to specific benchmark tests et al, but I added my LG G3 to the charts in this article, and about 1/2 the time they claimed the G3 was faster, which I can assure you is not the case (hands on testing proved this). Furthermore, the screen is amazingly vibrant, among the best I have ever seen. The battery life is a little on the light side, but the swapability of the battery shores that up and the charge time (or lack of it) is unreal. I really like the second screen so far. it functions like an OS X dock, allowing me to jump directly between the app I am in and the app I have used most recently or think I will use the most. Don't believe the above review. I am not sure why Phone Arena is such an LG hater, but I think this review confirms it.

A bit of disappoinmet in the audio department. Though its a Hifi Phone but the audio output via headphone is ONLY 0.52 volts. Iphone 6s plus 0.98v and galaxy note 5 got a 0.60v. Meaning the Iphone and note 5 is way louder than this LG V10. Before I am excited to own this smartphone because of the audio output. But after this review by phonearena I am disappointed. Still the undisputed loudest smartphone with Hifi audio technology is MEIZU MX4 PRO which got a headphone output of 1.92volts. Stiill waiting for the Meizu PRO5 review and see how this new Hifi phone fares with his older bro.

Dont take this review seriously. They are biased and their audio measurements are not of the ess but of the snapdragon dac. They screwed up. Check the audiophile reviews from users on head fi

Wallpaper selection?!?!?! Really?!?!? O dang a new low for this page...Not reading your reviews anymore...I eventually decided and got this over the more expensive note 5 and I don't regret a bit... Loving everything that you though we're wrong with the phone.

Really PA, this is definitely among your most incompetent smartphone reviews ever. I don't about all the other things, but if a disastrous phone like HTC One A-9 could get 7.8, then this device definitely deserves higher score. Please do UPDATE this review when you get the proper US model, or you gonna a huge chunk of your daily readers.

Seriously this is the most obviously biased review I've ever read! Shows your site is unprofessional and you probably either get paid by some companies or you have personal favorites (mostly Apple and Samsung?) You didn't even mention the strong points of this phone (robust ESS sound), or you have burried them with negative words like th QHD resolution! Actually on the sound part your measurements are all wrong you probably didn't use the hifi mode, you just tested with the integraded snapdragon DAC. After reading this crap review I do not think I will be coming back for more reviews... You just lost one regular visitor to your site.

They are biased toward Apple mostly. Apple's are 1 1/2 generations behind some Androids screen wise (screen ratio, sharpness) and other wise and you never hear about it. They rated the Note 5 poorly although now that you see what came out after the Note their rating makes more sense. I think Sony's are beautifully built and it doesn't translate into their rating as it held against LG.

From a design standpoint the LG is rather bland. Sony's have probably the best design over all but they are expensive in today's marketplace. I think that the Moto Pure Edition has it all. At $400 it is unbeatable. I have been into Notes 2 3 4 until now but as I would be buying my phone outright today I will switch back to Motorola for the first time in 5 years.

I usually like the reviews from PA but this one is way off. The LG V10 is a great phone. I took back my Note 5 because filled the memory in 4 hours and the battery life was terrible. I got the V10 and it's great. As far as the things mentioned in the review they make no since. It's got the best camera and the video is great. The tweaks you can do to the phone are 2nd to none and memory up to 2 tbs is that not important to anyone anymore. I guess phones are all about storing everything in the cloud and copying the iphone. Don't believe it. Try it your self.

I think its better if these secondary display is on navigation bar which is easy to reach by your thumb, i mean make that more effective who knows, always in the bottom part and when screen off the notification shows in secondary screen and when its on, turn into navigation, addition swipe left/right some shortcuts in secondary screen.

I like everything about the V10 and the G4 about it. Especially the camera, expandable storage, and swappable battery. My only problem is the size. Now if only they would take all this and put it into a handset about 4.5-4.7” I think it would be great, even with a compromise on thickness.

Had the LG V10 now for a week. The phone is truly incredible. I took back the Note 5 because of the memory or lack of and terrible body design, yeah it looks great but slippery and fingerprint magnet. The V10 is the best phone I've owned so far. Fast, beautiful screen, incredible feel, and more memory than use can ever use. The grip on the back was a great idea, I hate getting a new phone only to have to bury it in a bulky case. The 2nd screen is great and finally put where it needs to be on the top and not on the side. The reviewer mentioned that he didn't like the wall paper or icons, this phone is completely customizable so who cares. I admire LG for not copying the IPhone like Samsung. Keeping the removable battery and SD card when everyone else is dropping it was a great move. I got my wife the IPhone 6S plus and it's an impressive phone I must admit. The 3d screen is the best idea any phone has come out with in the last 10 years. I had all of the Note phones and loved them but they lost me with the Note 5, they gave up the things that made it different from the IPhone. Don't compete with Apple on there turf make your own phone and stick with it. Thank you LG

Would be taking this "review" with a large pinch of salt. PA have been dogs**t for a while now with their half baked crap

Are you really sure about this rating PA? I was seriously considering this device as my next daily driver... I demand a second opinion!! Well, let's see how the Blackberry PRIV fares next...

This was truly an unprofessional review. Other users and reviewers have cited legitimate concerns with the phone and noted its strengths and weaknesses. Had this reviewer even bothered with a reasonable review, he could have discussed some of the legitimate concerns. You should look elsewhere. You Tube has lots of reasonable reviews where a fair assessment of the V10's can be found.

I had to read it twice to fully realize that this guy was hellbent on having cons blowned out of proportion. Like someone said to him "Bash it!", and bashing he did. Really? Criticize it on grounds of customization, an Android strong point?? Or refering QHD an overkill???

I saw his video review and he mentions the phone is really fast in fact the fastest LG has ever released, so the 7/10 score is really perplexing. He didn't seem to like the design, display color temperature and he does not like the LG software at all, but for a phone that performs that well are those three hinge really significant enough to drop the score especially when some of the UI can be changed with third party launchers?

Data does not work on a call.. I got my LG V10 last Saturday, very happy with it, until Monday when I was in a call outside my office and tried to surf internet while on the call, and realized the data was unavailable. I contacted Verizon customer service, and they confirmed that this feature is no available in the LG V10. If you are on WIFI you will be able to talk and surf. No on cellular network

You can blame Verison's CDMA network for that, not the phone. That has always been an issue with Verizon.
