LG V10 Review

While initially it might appear to be just another experimental device from LG, the new V10 jumbo smartphone might very well take the place of the uninspiring G Pro line for good. Here's the deal: the LG V10 may have just a marginally larger screen than that of the LG G4, but it comes with a unique trick of its own: a secondary display that's always on to show you the time and date, notifications, or next calendar event. Could this be the special ingredient to make phablets work for LG?

The inconsistencies in the reviews is getting ridiculous. Reviewers need to get on the same page when it comes to review scoring, and there needs to be a better presentation for the review. The entire system needs an overhaul. There's a reason that just about every other publication's reviews are more widely respected than the ones on PA. This won't be fixed until PA actually acknowledges that they have a problem.

I don't necessarily agree that all reviewers should be on the same page because people do have different viewpoints. That said they can have 2 scores. Say if John V rated have a side bar of what an Apple hater would rate it. And they need to stop cherry picking reviewers. They seem to have no problem giving important Android reviews to isheep but all iphone reviews are given to fans. It's okay to not be on the same page but they can't pick and choose reviewers just to get the scores they want.

Everyone can have their own opinion, but if they insist on using a numerical scoring system, there does need to be some sort of consistency between what rates which score. Right now, it's practically the wild west of scores, and it really devalues their reviewing system.

Single core score is off. I get well over 1100 in my v10. The battery life is about the same as my G4. The only thing I don't like is the weak speaker volume. It's not as loud as my old G4.

Really.. How you could take all the benefits and turn them to negatives? I can't say, every phone has the negative points, but LG tried hard this time, kept their own design language and innovations without copying Apples design and materials. Many features are awesome and my Note 5 is jealous of.. Some of them are: 1.IR blaster 2.Basic model comes with 64GB,(32gb with 16 megapixels camera and 4K is just..funny) 3.Memory extension slot 4.Dual front cameras 5.Second screen for multitasking is awesome. 6.Military Grade Durability 7.Removable Battery(Note 5 has fast wireless charging out of the box, so don't mind abt that) 8.Manual video recording 9.Laser focus And perhaps many more.. After so many years reading you, I can say that you review is totally Unfair and therefore useless for us that we are looking an honest opinion and idea.

If this sales here as bad in its own country this could be LG's downfall. Get it together LG. Don't follow in HTC's foot steps.

Pro: Stainless steel sidebars are cool Con: Bland materials and color options Whaaaaa? Are those stainless steel sidebars not a part of the phone's materials? Also color options are now a con? What about all the phones that come in just one color or just black and white?

I was lucky enough to pick one of these up today. My impressions: Coming from a Note 4, the size did not bother me. It certainly is noticeably larger and heavier than any phone I have used before. However, the stainless steel sides contour perfectly to my hand and make holding the device comfortable. Pros: - Main screen looks great - Headphone audio out is excellent - After initial setup, no lags I have noticed - I find the second screen useful (especially when main display is off) - Cameras take great shots (Not as point and shoot friendly as my Note 4) - SD Card - Removable Battery - Charges Quickly Cons: - My second screen has back light bleed, really noticeable when main display is off - Back Material is slippery and I really don't like the feel of it - Battery Life - this may improve over time as I have only had one charge cycle, but it is about half the life of my Note 4 running 5.1.1 That is my take so far. I have not encountered any bugs software wise and the hardware seems solid. Bluetooth worked. GPS locks quick. Camera focuses quick. It just works. I couldn't say the same with my previous Note 4...

Idk why they made the speaker worse than the G4. It's not even that loud for such a big phone.

Why is there pretty much no mention of the fingerprint sensor or test of it at all? And no mention that the phone is made robust with dual gorilla glass 4 with plastic film between, making it virtually impossible to break by normal drops (even on concrete). It has a military grade protection and you complain about weight and looks. PA totalt missed the genre of this phone. because this is samsungarena

The battery is damn good for me even from the start. 100% at 630am, by 10pm with moderate to heavy use I can be left with about 15-20% when I need to charge. The other night I took my phone off the charger, 10-15 min later I talked to my buddy for about 20-30 min, got off and looked at my phone and it was still 100%!

How is it that the Moto pure edition gets far higher scores on the benchmark tests when it has the same chip as the V10?

60. Taters

Posts: 6474; Member since: Jan 28, 2013

Sony and Moto cook the books. Samsung can't do it anymore because the Apple pro media called them out on it and LG has a spotlight on them too so they can't even attempt it or risk the same wrath Samsung received. Apple does it but no one can prove it since IOS is too closed for a developer to create an app to prove it. So smaller companies with no media spotlight on them like Moto and Sony can freely switch into full power mode during benchmarks. Watch the two new Lumias have crazy scores too.

Then let's compare it to another LG phone. I added the G4 to the benchmark tests and it too had far higher scores and that phone also has the snapdragon 808.

Qualcomm has killed more flagship phones this year, than any cheap model from some new chinese company...........810 is having issues with thermal management and 808 is having issues with power efficiency, most of the phones with 808 are showing mediocre battery life.........hope next year Qualcomm step up their game, or else most manufacturer will turn towards chinese chip makers, or will start designing their own chips, and getting it manufactured by tsmc , samsung, or intel........

So THIS is a bigger failure than the iPhone 6S Plus ("HTC One A9.") LG is doomed.

I have the V10 and it's a lot better than what phonearena is giving LG. I like everything about it except the speaker output. Which is not as loud as my old G4.

due to the speaker's position, louder than the sony xperia z3 and z5

No LG is not doomed. This article is not correct at all. If you go to Verizon, Att and T-Mobile and look at what people are trading in for it you would be amazed. Manley Samsung notes. I think your wise enough to know better that you can't believe everything you read.

Lamest review ever... I don't think they even had the phone long enough to do a proper analysis... This page is as bias as a fashion magazine...

Sorry, but this is the most messed up review I've ever read!!! The phone is one of the best for the entire year... The only other phone I would really compare it to is the Nexus 6p. And, the only two things that matter and N6p have more than the v10 are the cpu and the pure Android/Google behind it! (where the cpu is a toaster oven btw) With the rest the two phones being at par or Lg taking over... Fingerprint -both have it Screen size-same Battery- v10 removable ✔ Expandable memory- v10 ✔ Secondary screen- only v10✔✔ The above mentioned making the phone last way more than the 6p ever would... And much more but it is all user preference-dependent. . However,PA seems to be predominated by iCrap and Sammy lovers, thus the review reads so much nonsense! And giving it a 7?!?! But gave Nexus 5x 8+?!?! Hahahahahaha Get another job, or loose your readers...

even if they've had the phone for over a year and then write a review, I still wouldn't acknowledge it. because they are so obviously bias. the only thing I like about this site is the tech news, that's all it!

Wait, how did this get a worse score than the LG G4? This is basically a G4 that has been upgraded on all aspects.
