LG G Pro 2 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 3

LG's first shot at a 6-incher, the G Pro 2, introduces top-shelf specs in new design wrappings, placing it in direct competition with Samsung's Galaxy Note 3. Both phablets are very similar in hardware, yet the G Pro 2 one-ups Note 3 with a camera that features optical image stabilization, and a tad larger, 5.9” display, versus the 5.7” panel on Samsung's biggie. Will these be enough to offset the extra functionality brought on by the S Pen stylus, integrated in the Note 3?...

Note 3 all the way. The G pro 2 doesn't provide enough justification for having such a large display.

Two good option. The main question is the price that here in Brazil is bizarre. We can find a LG G2 for $600 but the Note 3 until now costs near $1200 basis and on sale we can get about $800 with luck. If the G Pro 2 come here with a decent price and like all the others LG the price drop, it will be the right choice. The difference between them are details.

If you want a fun toy, the G Pro 2 *might* be a better choice if the camera is as improved as they say. If you want a productivity machine, the Note 3 wins by a landslide.

If only this arrived half a year earlier... It's Spring and the Note 4 will be announced late Summer, better wait for that 64bit 4GB RAM flexible UHD screen wonder!

i personally would prefer the Note 3, just because of the S-Pen. But on all other aspects, LG G Pro 2, especially on the camera dept.

This review is flawed. Change the screen mode to professional photo and we'll talk again. Oh and LG's UI makes samsung's touchwiz looks good. Note 3 for me anytime.

I must say that LG UI sucks, they should begin copying someone else! Vote for the Note 3, the S-pen is something I would like to see in other phones. Plus, both offer about the same display size (as the on-screen buttons in the LG eats some screen real state)

LG'S UI is much better and more customized LG 's true FULL HD IPS is by far better..........no comparison... i hate FAKE COLOR of Super AMOLED! G pro 2 has far better camera & louder speaker also better design! REAR KEY IS USEFUL THAN S-PEN!

LG's UI is a blatant copy of Sammy's Touchwiz. Both UI's need a massive overhaul. No comparison? I like Super AMOLED better. Choice. Better camera? O.I.S. so probabbly yes. Louder Speaker? Yes. Better design? I like the Note 3's design way better. Choice I tried the G2 and i like my buttons on the side of the fone, not on the back. Also, i hate onscreen buttons. So, again, choice And in no way are buttons more useful than the S-Pen and the Wacom Digitizer in the Note 3

Waiting for the blind camera test before assuming too much about the LG. Camera quality is about two things: user experience and results, both of which are important. For whatever reason, the Note 3 has been a very popular camera in spite of the lack of OIS. The same is true of the screen. Screens are the primary point of interaction with a smart phone. When the Note 3 came out, review after review raved about the beauty of the screen. How you react to the display is a complex combination of factors. You can't substitute measurements and specifications for emotional response. Frankly, I surprised that LG managed to match all of the specs of the Note 3 and yet decided not to try to match the stylus, but still put it out there with a price point similar to the Note 3. You can compete on price, which the original Pro managed, or you can compete on features. No number of incremental improvements over the Note 3 is going to put LG into contention without the stylus. There will always be a number of people who don't much care about the stylus, but it's the coolest thing about the Note 3. I think the LG is a fine phone, and that it's worth the money, and that it's a beast. But I can't imagine myself buying it over the Note 3 at a comparable price.

LG attempted to compete with Note 1 with the LG Vu, It has a stylus which has a weird name.

The Note 3 is still better than the G Pro 2. This is an indicator that the mobile industry has begun to plateau when a phone thats 5 months old is still better than the new phones that came out recently This may be temporary, but you never know these days

The note 3 is clearly worse in almost every regard especially the design. The pen seems to be the defining feature for all of you but i highly doubt it matters much to most everyone else. Productivity does not increase that much because you have a pen and frankly, you could do everything just as quickly with your finger or just buy a stylus. I have used the note 3 by the way. The note 3 is not better and never will be so just deal with it and accept that technology moves quickly. Soon, The g pro2 will be one uped by something else. I really like the note 3 though its just that the pro is better:)

Better for who? Have you used the G Pro 2? I for one don't like the rear buttons on LG's new design. Also, onscreen buttons kill it for me. I absolutely hate them. And a stylus? Are you even familiar with the wacom digitizer in the Note 3 that gives the S Pen actual advantages over a plain old stylus with a soft tip? But as i said earlier, Choice. i prefer the Note 3's design The G Pro 2 is a beast no doubt but i will still choose the Note 3. Choice :)
