HTC Touch Pro2 Review
The HTC Pro2 is certainly an extremely snappy device for a mere Windows Mobile cell phone, just like its thinner sibling the Diamond2 is, plus, like we said before, the fast and responsive touch screen is an undeniable pleasure to use.

Unfortunately, we are pretty displeased with the phone during calls. People on the other end can hear you loud and clear, but what comes out of the earpiece is noisy, crackling voices that are really hard to distinguish. Rather taken aback, we decided to switch to the built-in loudspeaker that is one of the most heavily advertised features of the Touch Pro2 and … Oh, Dear! Sound was really loud, but voices were downright repulsive to hear and almost unintelligible, which is rather odd given music through it is just fine. People on the other end complained that despite being loud, voices had suddenly lost clarity. We have to say the button in the middle blinks in green and red quite nicely, although this can hardly make up for the appalling in-call quality.

At a fell swoop, the HTC Touch Pro2 has managed to irreversibly crush our understanding of cell phones as they are. Well, no, not really. As a whole it is an excellent Windows Mobile device, just as we expected. Again we emphasize it´s a nicely performing device for its operating system, despite the fact the TouchFLO 3D cannot be referred to as the best customization pack on the market - you are bound to face the “good, old WinMo” sooner or later and we all know what its weaknesses are. We also have no gripes in terms of hardware; the phone is bulky and we mean it, but this is fine with us given the awesome 3.6-inch display. The fact that it´s rendered virtually useless in direct sunlight is something we are willing to… turn a blind eye to. The only hardware part we are totally disappointed with is the mediocre loudspeaker, not to mention we did have our hopes on high after seeing all that ad hype over it, but this is something can live with. If you happen to be looking for an ultra-functional Windows Mobile cell phone, the HTC Touch Pro2 is the best option you have as of now. If you would rather go for something trendy looking, the Diamond2 offers pretty much the same, save the keyboard.

HTC Touch Pro2 Video Review:

  • Awesome keyboard
  • Touch sensitive screen that delivers great image quality and display can be tilted
  • Extremely responsive and snappy
  • Excellent customization pack

  • Screen is unusable in the sun
  • Mediocre loudspeaker and in-call quality
  • You are bound to see the standard WinMo menus sooner or later
  • The camera quality is very poor

Miamibeef, AT&T is GSM; and the AT&T branded version (scheduled release date is sometime in late August) will be called The Fortress; which you can read about here:http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/HTC-Fortress-phone-pb_3712.html.

This is the first review where I've read that earpiece is not good. It would be good to demonstrate it in video review, straight talk as well. If it's really true then it's big handicap for this phone.

I own a TP already, so I know the real deal {Their Is A WHOLE Lot Of Bais In This Review}, the TP2, it's 10 times more advance than the iphone 3gS {Fool The people Again Apple}, give me TouchFLO 3D/2D/Spb Mobile Shell/Spb Online/Slingbox, it's ON with the TP2, yeah...! {LOL} I just think the new iphone 3gS cannot match up this time around with the new latest HTC Touch Pro 2 Windows mobile PPC 6.1/6.5/7.0 WVGA TouchFLO 3D/2D TriPod Mode 480×800 JimBoTron Tilt screen resolution, E-mail Microsoft Exchange Server, 32 GB SDHC Card slot, 3.5MP camera, Front camera, TVOUT, video camcorder, five row pull out Qwerty hard keyboard with the “JimboTron” tilt screen {Movies, YouTube Videos}, worldwide mobile card and the SlingBox mobile client app works with this super star, Naw Apple don't even try it, don't even think about it, you lost this game already… The Touch Pro 2 got you beat baby....{LOL}

While the TP2 is better than the iPhone in in most specs, I do have to say that even if it (TP2) is a good product, Apple not only has its (large) fanbase and is a household name, but it also has the money to advertise its product on TV. And we're not talking about that one short 15 second clip where you see the phone once in the entire ad late at midnight only once. They do commercials regularly during prime time TV for god's sake. I do love how the TP2 looks and appears and all of its features (I plan on making it my next phone), but Apple has its base (and a strong one at that), so it isn't falling down for at least two or three generations.

First of all this is WinMo crap yeah that's right. The iPhone 3G S really impresses me outta hell. Just remember I don't own the first gen and second gen iPhone because it doesn't impress me at all. It sounds like I'm an Apple fanboi but I'm not, I used to hate Apple stuffs because they're expensive and made out of junk parts. But hey who knows maybe I'll get the E72 instead of the iPhone 3G S. What I like about iPhone is? The hardware its the fastest thing out there atm, the classic arcade ported games or games, landscaping mode on a big screen, touch screen, app store, and a GPS to trace where your phone is if you pay for MobileMe subscription.
