Google Pixel 3 XL vs LG V40 ThinQ

Running the same silicon with two more gigs of RAM and a three-camera setup, the V40 ThinQ looks like a very formidable contender to the Pixel 3 XL. But are the V40’s strengths only spec-deep? We put the two head to head to settle the score.

"Battery life is another easy category to give to the XL. Lasting two full hours longer on our custom drain test...." Not according to the data you present in the article (6 hours and 21 minutes versus 7 hours and 39 minutes. That is 1 hour 18 minutes.

They aren't even sure about their own battery test.

Best guess is that the author mistakenly used their results for the Pixel 3 battery test, which does seem to be 2 hours over the V40.

Finally a decent comparison. Each phone has it's pros over each other, and while I think the V40 has an advantage in price/value, it's pretty close. And because of this comparison, I cannot even imagine how the score of the V40 is so low compared to the Pixel 3 XL.

PhoneArena is effing strange. They rated the V40 a 7.7 and the Pixel 3 a 9.0 but this comparison calls them "close?" Dafuq? Then where exactly did the fault lie with the V40 that made it get one of the lowest scores for a flagship product in a long time?

They are trying to discredit the brand, that's all. There is no real reason, why it couldn't get around 8,5-9 points.

The V40 would be my choice. I'd be sacrificing too much with the Pixel (even if it does have the better camera). And this is without me even considering some of the complaints users of the Pixel are reporting.

curious as to how these devices compare with the V40 running Gcam instead of stock
