Google Nexus 9 vs Apple iPad Air 2

The holidays are just right around the corner, so consumers will no doubt be in full force shopping for the best of the best for their loved loves. In the tablet space, we’ve been fortunate to see the arrival of two spectacular offerings very recently – the iPad Air 2 and the Nexus 9. When it comes to performance and usefulness in accomplishing all sorts of tasks, there’s no arguing that these two come racing to the scene with a whole lot of goodies to make us all drool. At the end of the day, though, which of the two proves to be the stronger, more profound selection?

The verge's review of Nexus 9 is crappy :D I cannot believe it, since it was so different from the reviews I read/view from mobiletechreview, androidauthority, phonedog, phonearena and some in my country language :D

yeah they are biased, because they don't like what you do. How much does Google pay idiots like you?

The Nexus 9 is really a bit half-baked. -- The K1-64 and its Transmeta-like architecture causes stuttering and lag issues that many users have complained about. -- The build quality is mediocre -- The back is terrible cheap plastic that will ooze BPA into your hands. -- The unit heats up a lot, even in light use Personally, I had pre-ordered a Nexus 9 via Amazon then I cancelled it. I'm not paying $479 for a half-baked tablet. If I were an Android developer, I would have kept the order in place as the Nexus 9 is a good device for Android L / Android-64 development. For just "general use", this review has got it right. Get an iPad.

Ive also heard this. At pretty much every review site other than PA. Even Android Authority has these complaints, while latched firmly inside Google's buttcrack.

I might add that the reviews on Amazon have been unkind. The Nexus 9 is rated 3 stars which on Amazon means it is a POS. The bad ratings have mainly been about these same complaints.

As my assumption is the newest software (android L) is not pretty much perfectly goes along with new hardware. And it seems nowadays, due to the need of fast publish to the market, every manufacturer face this problem including Apple, HTC, Google, Sony, Asus, LG, Samsung ... But, they will fix it along a way with many small OTA updates quickly :D

I waited with buying a new tablet for reviews to come up. Made the choice a lot easier. Went with the shield tablet and loving it. Did had to buy a new dual band access point though, streaming my game rig to the tablet takes a lot of bandwidth. But it's money well spend :)

If you want the best tablet and ios, then of course the IPad, if you want the best tablet and android, of course the Nexus. Really the decision is which UI you prefer. Personally, the Nexus is the best.

For my money I'd rather have the Samsung 8.4 tab.

The resolution is not "sky high" there are several tabs that have been out for awhile with much higher resolution. I would have preferred Qhd myself. The ppi should be at least equal to the last Nexus tab in my opinion

Nexus 9's top and bottom bezels are too big, and the iPads side on s are.

The iPad does have 2% better screen-to-bezel ratio. But all the better for Boomsound, my dear!

I think if the Nexus 9 would be upscaled to iPad's size they would look almost identical. Is it only me who noticed this? I don't mean to say Apple invented 3x4 tablet display but Google could have gone different with their design.

Does the WiFi iPad air 2 have GPS or does it rely on WiFi for location service?

iPad Air 2 wins for me, nexus 9 wasn't meant to compete with the ipad as some have said it
