BlueAnt Supertooth Light Review

In order to enter into the connecting regime it is necessary to hold the accept key and to open the mic shaft. The Bluetooth indicator starts blinking in red and blue, this showing that you are in a pairing regime. This is the most suitable and quick way for entering into the pairing regime, which takes no more than 2 seconds, for which we have to congratulate the designers of the device. When you have to enter the password to the phone, you have to know that it is the standard one - 0000.

Once connected to the phone, the device allows you to answer/end/reject call, to use voice dialing. You can transfer the call to the phone and back, as well, as during conversation you close/open the mic shaft. These options depend on your phone.

The most important parameter in a handsfree is most probably the quality and strength of the sound during conversation. Therefore, we tested the BlueAnt SuperTooth Light several times to determine its performance in real life conditions.

The built-in loudspeaker is powerful, as the sound is very strong and you will not have problems with hearing, even in heavy traffic with your car windows pulled down. When you use it in an office, you have to know that by increasing the sound to the maximum the sound is heard even through the wall.

We made a test in heavy traffic conditions, accompanied by a lot of side noise, so that we find out the impact on communication and establish whether a normal conversation can be carried out under such conditions. When you accept an incoming call and you take it by the handsfree, you hear a short sound, afterwards you can talk. The car had its windows all the way down, so that the traffic noise be heard to the maximum, and at the same time we played also music from the cd- player. The noise did not influence the conversation and a normal dialogue could be carried out with the person on the other side of the line, as another reason is the integrated DSP technology. When the music is played at medium level, you will not have problems, as well, but when you increase the volume above the average, on the other side it is hard to distinguish your voice from the song. But in such a situation, even if you talk directly at the phone, the person on the other side will have problems understanding you.

According to data of the manufacturer, the device can support up to 15 hours talk time and 800 hours of standby at one charging. The talk time is less than the 20 hours talk time offered by the competitive model HF-300 of Nokia.

If you travel often and you have to use a phone during this time, but you do not want to deal with complex installation and cabling in the whole car, the BlueAnt SuperTooth Light will be of interest to you. Nevertheless, the devices, which require professional installation have some advantages, which you will not see in this model. A part of the privations, which you will suffer for the price of mobility, is the lack of a display, depicting the number of the incoming call, as well as that the battery is charged separately and is not directly connected to the car. Imagine that you will have to receive all calls or to look at your phone each time someone is calling you. Both cases cause discomfort. Yet, the dilemma has a solution, but for your own comfort you will have to place the phone on a special stand in the car, so that you can see its display.

If these drawbacks are not important to you, the BlueAnt SuperTooth Light is a good option, but you can also consider Nokia Speakerphone HF-300 which is sold at similar price and allows for up to 20 hours talk time with one charging, at the same time having smaller dimensions and weight.

  • Quick and easy installation
  • Comfortable to work with
  • Strong sound of the loudspeaker
  • DSP technology

  • Larger than competitive models
