Official information about the batteries of these two tablets is pretty scarse, but the bigger 8820 mAh juice pack of the iPad Air will easily deliver a longer lasting battery life, compared to the Galaxy Tab 3's much smaller 6800 mAh unit, especially when having in mind the differences in terms of power consumption for these two operating systems.

It's obvious that the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 is the inferior tablet here, but the questions is – is its price cheaper enough to make it a worthy alternative to the iPad Air? The Wi-Fi only model can be yours for $360, which is $140 cheaper than the starting price of the iPad Air. While this shouldn't be overlooked, if we consider the way better experience one would have across the board with the iPad Air, we believe that Apple's tablet is worth it the extra cash. With its premium design, great platform and unsurpassed application catalog, you can do so much more with the iPad Air, and all of it will feel so much better.

Still, if you can't afford to spend $500 on a tablet, then the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will not be such a bad choice. It has decent performance and camera, plus the Android OS has its advantages like homescreen widgets, and higher customizability.

@itsdeepak4u2000, just cause PA is finding istuff is premium, there only saying that in comparison to the plastic devices which therefore makes the iPad or istuff premium. Where as if u had a HTC one vs iPhone 5s, PA is not that ignorant to say only I stuff is premium they'll say BOTH are premium.

"that Apple does a fabulous job of making plastic look cool!", that exactly what they saying on 5c review. Seriously? 5c is made of plastic and it's colorfull and glossy which is even worst and it's look like a toy (an expensive toy) Just saying althought i'm agree the iPad looks better when it compared to Galaxy tab, it is premium (literally) since it's more expensive as well. But i think debating over premium material is kinda pointless since you gonna put some case on it.

It's kind of pointless and idiotic to compare a flagship tablet to a midrange device that no one is talking about.

I wonder what Appleboy will say when I tell him I bought the Tab 3 10.1 for $290 at Bestbuy on Black Friday. I use my tablet as a GPS, among other things. As Appleboy said, the WiFi version of the iPad has no GPS receiver. Also, as he says, there is no SD card slot on the Air. As you can see, suddenly we are spending $700+ for all the wonderful advantages of the iPad Air. In truth, I use my tablet to surf the web in the bathroom. For real work, I use my docked notebook with 3 24" 1920x1200 monitors, Core i7 CPU, 32 GB RAM, SSD drive etc etc. Spending $700+ on a tablet to me is madness. There is room in the market for a fine 10" tablet under $300, and that is what I have.

A Core i7 with 32gb of ram? That is so unnecessary for "work".

This review is deliberately bias, and noncritical of the Ipad air. The reviewer focused on only criticizing the Galaxy Tab 3, while pointing out more cons than positives, while pointing out absolutely NO cons about the Ipad. An unreliable "article".
