Capo Jack 18 Apr 2010, 19:56 posted on

The manual i got From Verizon didn't tell me how to transfer music from my computer to my phone tho the guy who sold it to me said i could. How do i do it? Do i need special equipment?

I have gone through these steps and - "Menu --> Settings & Tools --> 3. Tools --> *. USB Mass Storage - the mass storage is turned off - there is no choice to enable it??? The storage card shows my music file mp4, but the phone doesn't see it.?? How do I enable the USB Mass Storage ?

If you have iTunes open it.
Right click the song you wanna put on the phone click "Show in Windows Explorer"
It'll show up highlighted. Then right click that again and click copy.
go to "my_sounds" on the sd card and click on that. Then when you're in the 'my_sounds_' section click paste. (:
Sorry If I didn't explain very well.

An easy way is to just go on itunes, right click on the song you want to put on the cosmos and click show in windows explorer. Then itll show up highlighted so click on it then right click it. THENN click copy. after that go to your phones "my_sounds" folder. When you get to the folder, click paste. It actually works:D
Sorry I didnt explain very well though.

You do need a card. Simply place the files in one of the audio folders. "my_sounds" or "my_ringtones" after installing the LG USB Modem Driver. The Cosmos is not a bad phone at all. Its a shame that someone is nice enough to post detailed instructions and links for people who wont read past a few sentences. If you don't make an effort, you don't deserve a reward. Good luck folks.

Bennor, your comments were most helpful. The key was creating the proper folders on the SDMicro card. Once that was done (I had to do it manually, the format function did not create them) it worked as you discribed! Thank you for you set by step directions.

This is the most useless phone. It does not support music playing. You can save music onto your sounds folder but it cannot play. Plus it is very limited in space without the miscro sd card.

Hey, I've been able to transfer music (specifically cut to ringtone length) onto my phone through the usb cable. However, the file is stuck in the My Music folder. Is there anyway I can set it as a ringtone, or move it to the My Ringtones folder?

I followed Bennor's notes and was able to easily move pictures & mp3 files to the phone. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!! However, most of my music is in iTunes. Is there an easy way to transfer iTunes music to the phone or do I have to convert everything to mp3 with a converter first? Thx in advance!

I just bought the LG Cosmos, and I'm having a tough time understanding what type of file formats this thing will accept. I can't see anything in the manual on this subject. I want to use my jpegs on the SD card (which has been properly formatted in the phone) as wallpaper. The phone sees my images, but won't let me view them.
Maybe they're just to big, or the wrong file type for the phone.

I can't get to my pictures on the SD card using the media center either. So, what can I do to grab these images and use them in my phone.

Thanks for the advice.

Download v cast from Verizon website. It's free. Once done. Go to USB mass storage on phone under tools and plug phone to computer. V cast will recognize phone. You will have to set up v cast music. Easy don't worry.if you have music on computer already on windows media or some other folder v cast will searc computer and find it. Follow steps to transfer. I ad the lg cosmos a year and gav up on getting music til some1 told me to do those steps and now I'm enjoying music!
