webOS 1.0.2 update now available
We want to remind you that Palm had released an update for its webOS before the actual launch of the Pre. So, if you have finally gotten your hands on the hot smartphone, but still have the original version 1.0.0, you can now download the 1.0.2 update and see what's new. It supposedly makes the system more stable and adds a new alarm clock, since it seems people have experienced data loss and had to use the Palm Profile backup utility to restore their settings. You can update your Palm Pre through the Update option, under the programs menu and you won’t have to quit your work while the 67MB update is being downloaded.

I'm not sure if I should be impressed that they are on top of it, or that there's an update just less than two days since its launch.

I agree, at least they are not as sluggish as RIM & VZW were with the Storm updates.

even though the phone just launched on sat. It has been in existance for relatively six months and it was announced before the launche that there would be a Software update available pretty much immediately. Once the phones are shipped there is no way to load new firmware until the device is sold and activated. It is sweet that they stayed on top of it. This device truly is awesome

actually this update was available 3 days before the before the launch sprint employees noticed the issues on the device got it out to palm and a week later they had the update out. which is pretty impresive. i hope they can handle all the little quirks they may pop up this fast
