iPhone to tune into Sirius XM app in the second quarter
For owners of the iPhone, we've got some serious news. Let us correct that. We have some Sirius news. According to the satellite radio company, Sirius XM is bringing their content to the iPhone app store in the second quarter of this year. What makes this noteworthy is the idea that Sirius XM would be sending their programming to the iPhone without the use of a satellite, which would be a first for the radio broadcaster. Starplayr, a company that offers an application for Mac users to connect to Sirius XM, recently pulled back from making a similar app for the iPhone. Now we know why with Sirius developing their very own app. If this is successful, we could see this heading over to other platforms like BlackBerry and Windows Mobile. How much is the doggie in the frequency bands? No pricing has been mentioned yet.
